Need help with my Netflix app

Hey guys so for the past month I've been experiencing some issues with Netflix on my Xbox one. When i start watching a show or movie, it crashes after about 5 minutes. When i check my network, within the app i get the following:

(check) Netflix server 1

(X) Netflix server 2 nw-2-5

(X) Netflix server 3 nw-2-5

(Check) Internet connection nw-2-5-2

I have typed in the codes on their help website, searched numerous ways to try and fix my issue, and I even changed the NAT to open on my xbox one. I pretty much have tried it all. This is odd because my xbox one and 360 are the only devices that dont work.
My phone, tablet, computer, and blu-ray player in the living room all work fine when using Netflix. So in other words it cant be my ISP. All i can think of is maybe the last update caused this to happen? I searched for a fix and found out that other people
would connect their xbox one to a different internet source, like their phone hotspots, and then back to their home wifi and i guess that would fix it for them so i tried it and it worked fine with no issues on my cell phone hotspot, but when i changed it
back to my home wifi it crashed after 5 minutes of streaming. Has anyone else been experiencing this problem? I currently use a wireless connection but only because i am forced to, since there is only one working phone jack for my DSL to connect to and its
too far away from my room to run a wire. But as i stated before, it cant be my ISP or router because all other devices work fine when im using netflix on them. Please help!

Error 0xd0000189 - NETFLIX

this error appear when i try to use NETFLIX on my xbox-one.

I didn´t find any help, even here or NETFLIX support.

I need help, cause only this app is not working for now.

 

Everything works except Netflix 5028-1980.6001 - It won't get as far as the menu

Hi. My Netflix app will not load on my XboxOne - it shows the logo, but the loading symbol spins for a minute before saying:

"Something went wrong. Netflix has encountered an error. If the app does not work properly, you may need to restart it. 5028-1980.6001"

NAT is open, network connection is all fine, youtube and twitch work, games work etc. Just Netflix with the issue.

I tried rebooting the xbox (energy save mode style).

I tried uninstalling the Netflix app and reinstalling.

Hi, I have a similar issue to you. The netflix app on xbox one does not connect and I receive the error code nw-2-5. When I analyse the connection server 1 and 4 are fine but server 2&3 have an error message nw-2-5. All my other devices such as android phone,
iPads and PC connect fine. I have spent hours on the helpline but got nowhere. Is anyone having the same issues?

 

Hi. I will post the following solution on the forum. After many hours of following troubleshooting steps and getting nowhere far I have solved the issue by using the following steps.

1. I set up a wifi hotspot using my android smartphone.

2. Went to settings - network - set up wireless network - search for the hotspot in the avaliable list - attached to that option.

3. Opened up the netflix app and then signed in.

4. Once signed in I watched about 5 minutes to check the quality of image which was hd.

5. I then came out of the app using the xbox sign on the controller and put in the wired connection.

6. I checked the network again to see if the wired connection was recognised.

7. I opened the app again and it connected without issue or error code that I was receiving before.

This has worked for the last 5 hours so let's hope that it has been solved.

Hey VapidWriter5219, i have tried that and it did not work for me. On my mobile hotspot the Netflix app worked great but when i signed in to my home wifi, it immediately crashed after 4 minutes if streaming. I feel like Xbox needs to put out an update that
will fix this issue because it is really annoying having to put up with this, also its not just my Netflix app, but other apps like Youtube, xbox video, and hulu crash as well. Like i said before, it cant be my internet because all these apps work just fine
on my other devices, so everything points to my xbox being the main culprit. Another thing i should add is that when these apps crash, it causes my router to crash as well, by losing broadband and internet connection. If someone could please help i would appreciate
it.

 

I didn't need to sign in to my network as I am using a wired network and the xbox just connected. The netflix app is still working fine. The only other issue I have is worth a slightly choppy playback on iplayer.

 

I'm getting the same here error code nw-2-5, with the netflix server 2 and 3 with X's I have tried everything that both Xbox and netflix asked me to do

Reset the app, del it, reinstall

Reset my internet, tried the port forward codes, turned of my firewall and opened the app and nothing

I even tweeted Xbox and even they have no idea what's wrong, and then they stopped replying -_-

I have searched and searched and found nothing to fix this and its really starting to annoy me, been like this for about 2 month now -_-

I openned Internet explorer on the xbox one signed into netflix on it and got a message saying that ''The Netflix video player requires Activex to be enabled.''

The app is working on my 360 no problem but am currently using the One

If it helps i'm on Bt and using the BT HomeHub 4

 

mine errors then turns my console off. it blows my mind because crackle is free and it works flawlessly. shame on you netflix

 

@VapidWriter I can't do what you did because my router is in my kitchen and that is the only spot in the house with a phone jack to connect to. It's most definitely a problem that xbox caused with their last few updates because I never had this problem 2
months ago. For now I have been using my bluray player so i don't really care I'm just going to wait it out until a new update comes and fixes this problem. Hopefully soon because this really sucks.

 

Hi all, when I connected to the net using explorer on the xbox and tried to connect to netflix iI had the same error code. The setting up of a wifi hotspot (see earlier post) using my phone and then connecting with a wire has worked perfectly for me over
the last couple of days. I am using a powerline set up to achieve a wired connection which works well with the xbox one. This allows you to have the modem away from the xbox and have a wired connection with trailing weird across the room. Hope this helps people.

 

I have found how to fix this but only for BT customers with a bt home hub 3 and up

Log into your bt account at www.bt.com once in there go to my bt and go down to the button to find software and apps, you should see an app call parenteral control, delete that

to delete it click into it and below the turn on and off button should be either un-install or delete

It is the parenteral controls that is blocking Netflix DNS servers

Please share this so other can see how to fix it, ty

BT HH5 working fine for months and months, 3 days ago Netflix stops working with error described above. Works fine for all other devices.

Usual resets of everything possible, re-installs, nothing. Remove BT parental controls and its instantly working again.
