need help with dvd movie

Hello all, I recently purchased my xbox one ( very first xbox, have had playstation in the past). I had gotten a dvd movie a friend had burned for me and it will not play in the blueray app on the xbox one, however, a store bought dvd will and this dvd that
my friend gave me will play on my daughters blue ray player. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help

Blu-ray player

i need some help. When I want to watch a movie on DVD or blu-ray. The sound don't work.,. For all other activities it works...

my Xbox one day one won't play most of my DVDs

My Xbox one won't play all of my DVDs there is some like transformers revenge of the fallen and the Simpsons movie and the count is up to 78 out of 100 DVDs that won't play it plays games blue ray DVDs and music cds also it will not play any of the home
movies that are on DVD the DVD codec needs fixed and the audio needs fixed to play 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound

I'm not sure if the console is able to play burnt movies or not. Most blu Ray players will so you may be out of luck

Nothing needs to be downloaded to play DVDs on a 360. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/xbox-360/console/watch-dvds-movies#:~:text=You%20don't%20need%20any,DVD%20automatically%20starts%20to%20play. You may want to check with them to make sure they're trying to play a standard DVD and not a blu-ray or something.

Please try a DVD movie in. The drive. It’s possible the DVD laser has died and will need service

Hi,

Have you tried DVD movie discs? DVD Movie discs are DVD-9 format, the same as 360 discs.

If the Xbox One can't read these either then I'm afraid your console needs a repair as the laser that reads DVD's has failed.
