Need help with deciding what to get in terms of headsets ....

Hi Guys,

I'm getting an Xbox one in a couple of weeks and I need help in terms of headsets because I don't know where to look I've used the standard xbox headset that comes in the box with your console for years, but I've decided to get a proper one now

I'm looking for an over-the-ear design that has Dolby Digital Surround sound and costs £200 or under

However I've been looking at the Astro A40's with the m80 MixAmp but it's stereo? I wanted a surround sound but is there a noticeable difference for me as I won't be competing so i don't know if stuff like footsteps is much different in stereo or surround?

As you can tell, i don't know much about headsets haha but any help and recommendations would be greater appreciated

Need help deciding which headset to buy

Thats what I was thinking about the drivers per side.

My big dilemma is, right now the xbox doesn't support 7.1, but it will and probably soon (maybe fall dashboard update). So do i purchase a 5.1 headset with multiple drivers like the AX Pros or do I go for a 7.1 headset like the GoW 3 one. If I choose the
GoW 3 headset, I'll be ready for when the xbox DOES support 7.1. I'm just not sure.

In general, multiple driver headsets are supbar, that is why companies like Tritton & turtle beach are going with Dolby 5.1 SS.

There will be some difference in sound from surround sound but its all the person using them. I have had both stereo and surround headsets and its not a deal breaker but i do like the surround more for me.

I have the Tritton AX Pro headset and really like it. While I can't really say whether having multiple drivers in each earcup makes a difference, it seemed like a good idea... The CoD headset is the AX Pro in a different color, and it also includes
the storage/carrying case if that matters to you.

I can't see any advantage to the Turtle Beach DX11 other than costing less; and if you were going to go with Tritton why get fewer speaker drivers for more money in the Gears 3 headset? (Well, the digital controller has a second headset jack, if you cared about
that. Selectable Voice Monitoring could interest some people.)

i have a pair of a-50 wireless from astro, best money ive ever spend for my xbox. the only problem is the chat wire that connects to your controller goes out pretty easily. but they only cost like 4 dollars to replace. best sound out of a head set ive owned
and overall best quality. ive stopped with TB, ive bout about six pairs of those and they all end up messing up at some point soon after i get them, tritons arent that bad, but if you go with that you will want to get one of the pricier pairs.(better quality).
and the a-40 are just a wired version of the 50's. but still the best quality ive ever had.
