Need help with an original Xbox game

I already tried the suggestions on the site and updated the console with the update disk I downloaded. It said to make a forum post with this info so here it is. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Bringing back memories with this thread. Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 supports custom soundtracks. Amped does as well, which helped because I wasn't the biggest fan of that games music.

GTA 3 & Vice City has support, and looking at the few OG Xbox games I have left., I think Godzilla does too!

I have this problem with the official MW3 xbox controller and its just a faulty controller, i'd suggest using a different controller and see if that helps.

Probably the controller that has given up the ghost. I've had this with all my Duke controllers (sadly)... Try other controller ports with the same controller to check whether it's the controller or the controller port, and check if the controller works
correctly on other Xbox consoles. If that doesn't solve anything, switch around the connector dongle with other controllers (the part that stays in your console when you trip over the wire) - they get faulty sometimes. However, I'm afraid none of that will
solve your problem; looks like a dead controller!

Alternatively, open up the controller and check out the connectors underneath the analog stick - re-soldering may solve your problem.

As a secondary note, when powering on the console. Make sure you are not pressing against the button / thumbstick. Or anything is leaning on it.

The original Xbox console was manufactured between 2001/02 (depending on your region) and 2006 which means your original Xbox is between 22 to 17 years old. The most common component to fail (other than the internal mechanical hard drive) would be the DVD optical drive - the component that reads game discs.

Microsoft no longer repairs or services these older consoles. You'll need a third party repair organisation to take a look at it.
