Need Help w/ Red Power Brick Issue (Xbox 360 S)

My Xbox 360 slim is on its second power supply right now, and I hate the thought of getting a third. Of course, this second power supply is 3rd party (due to Microsoft's overpricing of their items), and just today I have began having problems with it. I've
had this power supply for just over a year now, and it suddenly won't work. I can't see anything wrong with the components inside of the box. From what I heard, the power supply is supposed to have an orange light while the Xbox is not on, however, mine has
always been red, turning to green when my Xbox was turned on (I'm not sure if this is just a side-effect of it being a third party item). Also, when I touch the power/eject buttons the corresponding noises that they would normally make go off, however nothing
happens.

I've seen all the different simple fixes which basically say "unplug it and plug it back in," and of course found none of them helpful, also I have seen that a USB slot that is missing a guard/bent out of shape could cause the problem, but all my USB ports
are fine. I don't know what the issue is, or could be and I am willing to provide any information that would help someone troubleshoot this problem for me.

My xbox 360 S won't turn on!

I was playing a game and my xbox 360 S just randomly turned off. The light on the power brick was red, when I unplugged it, the red light went out. I have been told that my xbox 360 possibly overheated, or that the power brick needs to be replaced. I haven't
even had my xbox 360 for a year yet, and my last xbox 360 pro lasted for four years. If it does need to be replaced, would a game store like gamestop have the power brick for the xbox 360 S, I know they have it for the original xbox 360, but that won't work
for the xbox 360 S. Thank You!!

 

Power brick red

My sons xbox 360 slim has a red light on the power brick. I disconnected it and connected it to my xbox 360 and it worked fine. So I took my power brick and connected to my sons xbox 360 and he has a red light on my power brick. Any ideas? Anything could
help!

there isn't much you can do.

I would suggest you to purchase official Xbox products next time, they may seem costly yet they deliver better service.

 

The issue here is the fact that it is third party. Not only will Microsoft not warranty products used that are third party (this includes if your console is damaged by it) but a third party block may not deliver the needed power that is required by the
console. As suggested above please purchase an official Microsoft power supply to enjoy problem free gaming.
