    Need help urgently


    Having some pretty big issues with game patches/updates.

    installing games itself is fine, normal speeds, but when any kind of patch or update gets released, it just seems to

    download in a majorly slowly way. I wondered what could be causing it, as my internet download speed was the same as it has always been. So I thought to check the bandwidth usage to see if there was anything going on there, turns out on every single patch/
    update,my Xbox seems to think it logical to download the entire game again!! I mean what the hell, my normal usage is like 80-100gb a month . Checked my usage for last month and it was like 300gb, and I've only bought like one new game in about 2-3 months.
    A dragon age inquisition patch came out 2-3 days ago and I'm not sure on the size but when I checked current usage this session it was 38gb (which is practically the whole game)

    i have a WD my book external 3tb hdd on my Xbox, and when I bought it I never had these problems, they've only occurred this last month,

    any help would be much appreciated thanks

    1. Make sure you have your WD External set as the default drive.

    2. The Dragon Age patch was around 4 GB.

    3. Try power cycling your Xbox to see if that helps.

    Power cycling your XBOX One. Hold down the power button on your console for 10 seconds and you will see the console power down. Now press the power button again to turn it back on, it will take a few mins for the console to boot back up.

    Thanks for the advice, I'm pretty sure the Hdd is set as the default drive, all the games are installed on it anyway. I've power cycled too before and that didn't really help. It just seems like a very strange issue, the fact that it's attempting what seems
    like a full install of the game when the patches themselves are relatively small. Left Inquisition for 3 hours last night and it was on last like 20-30%

    Did you already put the code in? There should be a card in the box somewhere with a prepaid code for the game.

    And the last store you purchased from is now closed. I have posted an answer in your other thread as well. Basically for those who haven't seen it, you state you hit the console (rough treatment will break it). Also, after 7 xbox's you could have bought
    on brand new and had free warranty repairs from Microsoft.

    You said your rank has gone back to 1 and only the game makers have permission to change unless you have recently met a hacker by mistake so I think its worth having a chat to the creators of the game it is possible there's an error on their servers.
