need help updating my xbox elite 2 controller

Hello,

I've been trying to download an update for my xbox elite 2 controller via the xbox accessories app

the update seems to be stuck on 0% applying updates for more than 30 mins.

I've tried the following "fixes"

- changing the usb port

- changing the usb cable

- repairing the xbox accessories app

- reinstalling the xbox accessories app

- restarting my pc

- checking for windows updates

- troubleshooting the microsoft store apps

I'm currently on lastest version of Windows 11 home (22H2).

I don't have neither an xbox or another pc to try to update on that.

my xbox controller warranty has expired so I can't get a replacement.

I can't configure the controller due to the update being required and not optional.

The Xbox accessories app is now updated and the Bluetooth works on the Elite Controller 2. I suggest updating everything, the app and plug in the controller to update it. Hope this helps.

Got it. Let's try this command.

1. Run the Command Prompt as an administrator.
2. Copy the command below, paste it into the command window and press ENTER:

sc config XboxGipSvc start= demand

3. Close the command window and restart the computer.

If it doesn't work, I am afraid that our best option would be to reinstall your Windows or perform a factory reset.

I appreciate you trying those steps. Our next option is to try it on a different local admin user on your Windows. If you have no other user created, please try to create one using the guide here https://support.microsoft.com/windows/create-a-...

I was unable to stop it and start it again from the services app because it's greyed out

so I moved on to the next steps.

a clean boot didn't fix the issue.

so I ran the system files checker and restarted my pc and I still faced the same issue

Thank you very much Rostom, I really appreciate you going through this with me and trying to find a fix.

I ended up doing the update on my friend's laptop and it worked there!

although the issue is still present on my computer and that's kind of annoying.

for now I'll take this as a solution

and yes I tried using a different cable after the reset, I even did some of the fixes we tried before, unfortunately as per said I wasn't able to do the update on my computer.
