    Hello, I have been spending countless hours in chat support but the techs don't seem to either fully read or understand what I have been trying to accomplish.

    My previous Microsoft account was hacked (I use 365 Home). This was the same account my son was using with his Xbox. When Microsoft de-activated the hacked account I lost all of my One Drive Data but they were able to retain my son's Xbox gaming files.

    I have created a new Microsoft account for myself to move forward. Microsoft assigned my son's gaming files to it. We have now also created a new email address for my son to start using with Xbox but have not done so yet. He is still using my NEW Microsoft account login. I would like to be the sole user of that login.

    My goal is to have separate accounts for myself and my son's Xbox for a number of reasons, including this has been incredibly hard to troubleshoot because parts of the process involve verification messages being sent to him while he is unavailable to respond etc.

    Some techs have had me list our accounts as Alias's and one tech was actually having me remove his new email account Alias from my Alias for more separation. (2 opposite instructions)

    1) I am unclear if both accounts need to both be listed under my account as Alias's or keep them completely separate.

    2) Most techs instruct me to "Verify" his account and make it the "Primary". When I try to Verify his account I get a message "Sorry you can't verify this account right now" "The alias your're trying to verify exists as a separate Microsoft account. You cannot verify this alias." However, this account was never used for anything else. We created it to use with Xbox. FYI: it is not a microsoft email address

    3) I am afraid to have my son attempt to login to his Xbox under the new account we created for him. If you recall, his gaming history (which is incredibly important to him) was associated with my new account. We would hate for him to lose data like I did. (I believe the gamer tag "may" be more relevant to his data than the login info, but I am not familiar enough with the workings to try any action).

    If someone could please guide me I would greatly appreciate it.
