need help opening my NAT

Ive tried opening the ports for my xbox one and its still strict or moderate. Im stuck on wireless at the moment because my console wont work with the ethernet cable plugged in. I cant tell if its the Xbox or the cable but when its plugged in I will have
acess to xbox live though it wont let me play multiplayer. it gives me a weird IP adress starting with 168 instead of 192 and the gatway is all 0's.

Your network is behind port restricted NAT

They have slower internet and you are wondering why your connection is slower?

Depends on the router on how to disable NAT or make NAT less intense. We will need your service provider (at the place that has restrictive NAT) and the router they have.

Those will help us reconfigure a router / modem with different nat settings.

 

Need help opening my NAT with multiple consoles, on a surf belkin router.

I recently purchased another xbox 360, my old one(Which my brother plays) has an open NAT, while mine is strict, there both wireless, I need help opening the NAT for both of the consoles at the same time.

 

You should post the make and model number of your router and modem

It makes it easier for someone to help you if they know that information

 

I have century link and the modem I have is the C1000A. other then that I dont know where to find the info you want.

okay so i plugged in my my console direct with a different eithernet cable. it gave me the weird IP starting with 168, id run the connection test and it would say my network isnt set up. so I go into advanced settings, click IP, click automatic again, it
pulls up a legit IP and everything and says My NAT is OPEN and that im connected and no problems for multiplayer. SO i jump into CoD:AW and it tells me: NAT: MODERATE.

 

oh I should also mention that The IP was changed so the ports are no longer open for the xbox. I have to delete the other one and change it over to the new one it was assigned. But what gets me is that the network settings says NAT is Open and that there
are NO problems. But AW tells me differently

 

edit yet again (is there a way to edit my posts rather then making a new one?) Fixed ports issue remains the same. Network settings says Open AW says Moderate.

 

Sorry I don't know your router but to open the NAT in Advanced Warfare port 3076 must be forwarded either by UPnP or port forwarding.

I would say your router has poor UPnP support which is which the port isn't automatically getting opened and you have a moderate NAT in AW.

So what you would need to do is go into your routers settings and forward port 3076 to the xbox one. If you do the right it should give you an open NAT in COD.

I don't know anything about your router so can't tell you how to port forward but if you check
Setup a port forward in your router to allow incoming connections for multiplayer games, VOIP, DVR, and security cameras. you may be able to find instructions on how to port forward with your router. Just remember to forward port 3076 as that is essential for COD to get an open NAT

 

I have this issue as well so here is how I fixed it. (seen on YouTube video).

1 :- First go into the settings menu and select network. If you see moderate or strict NAT try this.

2 :- Run the test multiplayer connection and let it go through the process.

3:- When it is done and the continue comes up press all 4 bumper buttons together until another black screen with upload/down load stats etc comes up.

4:- In the part that says Detailed Nat Information wait a few minutes until it finishes getting your NAT info.

5:- If it comes up with telling you about being behind a cone NAT you are good to go and can press A to exit back to the main settings page and your NAT should now be OPEN. If not try running steps 2 to 5 again. I check my NAT every time I go to play a game
every day and this seems to fix my issue at the moment although if you haven't played for a few days it will need to be done again.

This has sorted my issue at the moment as I am not a computer wiz so do not like messing with ports and other things on my modem/router as I do not think that the issues are entirely the modems/routers fault as I never had these issues with my Xbox 360 on
the same network and still do not.

Please note at the time of publish there is a error with Xbox live that might be causing you issues if you have a open NAT. It will tell you what under your NAT info in the main Network screen.

 

I'm having a similar issue in which i can connect to live, watch youtube and access the store but I can't play multiplayer within a game or access party chat. When i check my detailed NAT it says "there is a firewall(or it is not connected)" and when I check
my multiplayer connection it says it "can't get a Teredo IP address.

 

I did this and it worked for my xbox1 nat open but in game still on Moderate have a BT home hub5

The Home hub 5 has terrible UPnP support. The UPnP will not work with games that use demonware port mapping. Basically all games made by activision.

To open the NAT you need to forward port 3076 to the xbox one.

To do this follow my instructions in this post but instead of forwarding port 3075 you should forward port 3076. This is because the port needed was changed in a patch since I posted them instructions.
