Need Help for Xbox Minecraft Online

I do not understand why Minecraft has to have Xbox live, Microsoft and mojang just to play the game.

Minecraft needs a Xbox Live account and running subscription as its a ONLINE game. You need the Microsoft account as Xbox Live is a Microsoft gaming platform and you need to sign in with your Microsoft account for access to your games , etc.

Important: if you’re playing on a Xbox, Sony PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch, you’ll need to make sure you have that console’s online subscription service active. That means you need an active subscription to Xbox Live Gold, PlayStation Plus, or Nintendo Switch Online as needed by your console.

i have minecraft on my daughters xbox, she has her own xbox live account but is not a gold member and when she plays minecraft she cannot have a quest come in,,i have tried everything even created two new accounts and nothing.. i need help... BTW the multiplayer
minecraft on my xbox works fine both offline and online....

Minecraft Better Together. The original version of Minecraft is called ”Minecraft: Xbox One Edition.” The new version is just called “Minecraft.” You will see the name of the game on the splash-screen when you launch it.

You will need an Xbox Live Gold subscription (sold separately) to use the following online features within Minecraft:

• Realms
• Connecting to servers
• Cross-platform play

For local multiplayer you will not need an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Minecraft Realms is a subscription-based service that lets you play Minecraft online with up to 10 players. Check out

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue with Minecraft Realms on the Nintendo Switch. Based on the message you received, it may be possible that your account doesn't have the correct permissions to access online multiplayer across different
devices.

Is your account a child or adult account? Players under 13 years old will have online multiplayer disabled by default with Minecraft and
won’t be able to join Realms or servers unless a parent changes their account settings.
For help with changing these account settings, you will need to change your
Privacy and Online settings of the Xbox Live account.
