Need Help, External hard drive has stopped working.

I have a 2Tb Seagate hard drive that I've been using on my Xbox One for over a year. The only problem I've every had is if I ever unplugged it, I sometimes have to mess about with the cable and reset it for the Xbox to recognise it. However I recently had
to move my Xbox and ever since the hard drive hasn't been quite right. The xbox recognises it and tells me I have about 350gb free out of 1.Tb of games and apps, and any of the games installed on it I can play no problem. But when I go into my games and apps
it tells me I only have 8gb of free space, which is just the free space for my internal hard drive, the external space is nowhere to be seen. Plus, with all the games that are installed on the external hard drive, when I go on manage game, it only has the
cloud saved data there, not the actual game. But like i said i can still play the game so it is obviously there. Now the real problem is that even though my external hard drive is the default install location, my xbox still tries to install internally. This
means i do not have enough space for installs, very problematic, especially since i should have 350gb. I can't even move already installed games to my external hard drive. I think it must be a problem with formatting, as when I tell my xbox to use external
drive as default install it, in the space available section it says "unformatted used". Obviously it is formatted though as I have used it for my xbox and nothing else for over a year. I've tried changing the USB port, power cycles, turning instant-on on and
off, un/checking the "when console is off, turn off storage button", hard resets, all to no avail. Please someone help me fix this, without having to reformat my hard-drive and lose 1.5Tb of data.

Seagate 2TB External Hardrive

My External hard drive has suddenly stopped working and shows no games are downloaded on it but is 100% full. I also am unable to clear it on the xbox in setting and am looking for help. Please Reply! Thank you.

 

Xbox one suddenly not detecting external hard drive

My Xbox one recently stopped detecting my external hard drive (SeaGate 2TB) after working fine for almost a year. I've tried every port and done several hard re-sets. Any advice? Please help.

 

Sounds like you have tried everything that I can think of and unfortunately none of it has worked. Have you tried disconnecting your external drive from you console. Then do another hard reset on your console. While it is off unplug the power cable from
the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and power up the XBOX (do not connect the external HDD until the console is completely up and operational) . Once the console is up completely then attach the external drive. Does the console find the
drive and does it react any differently?
