need help downloading minecraft off microsoft store

Check recent version of the Xbox app

Microsoft Store app > Downloads > Get updates/Update all

Check for the most recent version of Windows, including optional updates

PC Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates > Install

If the issues persist after following the above troubleshooting, we recommend using the Gaming Services Repair Tool. To use the tool,

In the Xbox app on PC, select your GamerTag in the top right corner

Select Support

Select Gaming Services Repair Tool

Select Start repairing

After running the Gaming Services repair tool and the issue has not been resolved, try creating a local account, let's see that will allow you to download the game.

Please press and hold the Windows key, then press R

Type netplwiz in the box, then click OK

Select Add

Select Sign in without a Microsoft account

Select Local account

Enter a username, password, and password hint

Click Next

Click Finish

Once done, please press the Windows Key + L then sign in using the local account.

Sign in using your Microsoft account on the Xbox App and Microsoft Store App.

Then try to download a game and see if that will fix the issue. Thanks!

In order to have Minecraft Mods you will need to ensure you have installed the Java Version of Minecraft. If you see Minecraft as an App, this shows that you have in fact downloaded it from Microsoft Store rather then this site here:

https://minecraft.net

The Microsoft store is not supported on mac. If you want to install minecraft on mac go to minecraft.net and download the DMG installer. If you want bedrock edition or to install it through the microsoft store you will need to use bootcamp to install windows. The best way to get it is through the minecraft website.
