NEED HELP college wifi w/o laptop

Hi there, I'm in need of some serious help,

I am a college student and am trying to connect my Xbox One to the college's account-sign-in secure WiFi,
but I do not have a laptop. I don't really know how to change MAC addresses. Everytime I put in the WiFi password, it does not redirect me to the account-sign-in page. Please reply, and or contact me here saying, "From Xbox Forum":

College wifi, need help

My Xbox can't get to the internet through my college's wifi. When I set it up on my computer I just had to boot up a web browser and sign in with my own student info to gain access. But I can't really do that on my Xbox. I tried going to "configure settings"
and adding info to the "username" and "password" section, with no luck. There is a place for an ethernet connection, but I didn't think to bring a cable. Is there any way to still get wireless Xbox live?

It's guide mentions an ethernet but you can try out the steps...and just substitute ethernet with wifi once you reach the dashboard options.

I had trouble connecting to my college wifi on my xbox sometimes.

There are a couple of things that you have to consider.

1)If your dorm doesn't have a console wifi, this may be your problem. Often universities have a redirect page before you can use the wifi. Try connecting to the wifi router, then use your internet explorer app and hopefully you will be redirected to a page
where you can sign in with your university info (For example, your id# and maybe a password or something.) You may have too try going to a couple different websites before you finally get redirected. Then your console should connect to the internet just fine.
This is a common problem when using a Universities wifi on a console.

2)Your dorm does have a console wifi, and you're still having problems. There might be a password or something you need to enter before you can connect to the internet. I recommend asking your R.A. or apartment manager what steps you need to take.

of the IT Department.

Hello,

Due to the fact that you are operating on a public network, ie college wifi, typically what they set these up to do is prevent devices from discovering other devices. This is to prevent your other students from being able to access things like your laptops
or printers and using them as their own. Same concept with the xbox being seen on the network. If there is anyway to get an ISP directly to your room and having your own internet and network apart from the colleges, this would be the route you would need to
take, aside from that you are at the will of the colleges network.
