Need help.. Can i clean my xbox1 controller with right stick drifting.

I received a custom Series C controller as a gift. It is out of warranty and just recently developed a nasty thumb stick drift. Microsoft zero help. Can this be repaired?

If you have a screw driver you need to remove your xbox controller and then clean where the stick drift is then put it back together and you have it fixed.

Sorry to hear you are having this issue. Sounds like you may have stick drift. If you have already reset the controller and cleaned them, one thing that might help is a product called WD40 Contact Cleaner. I know this has been used to resolve stick drift in Switch JoyCons.

If all of that fails, sounds like you will need to trigger the warranty.

This can happen when the sticks might have debris under them, or if the controller was accidentally dropped(accidents happen, my dog made my PDP afterglow controller fly 5m before it hit the wall)

First try working on the controller deadzone in the game, if that doesnt work, then try cleaning the stick with the earbuds/q-tips.

If there is still drift, then you may need to have your stick module repaired/replaced. Or the whole controller replaced(very last option to try)

I have drift on the right stick, but my gimbal is worn, the rubber is gone and it's high mileage indeed.

For each controller you owned, was it a different stick or direction of drift? Have you considered having the gimbal replaced on one of your old controllers?
