Need Billing Info For a *** Gift Card?!

Is there a adequete reason behind this or is it just to get on my nerves? The whole reason I buy pre-paid cards is I DON"T have to enter this information. Is there a way around this? Or shoud I buy a PS3 so I can use Sony's Playstation netowork where I do
not have to enter this information, it seems I would have so much better luck with them in terms of downloadable content because this defeats the purpose of having gift cards.

Credit card info?! It's a gift card

It's just the billing address... It only asks for your address, phone number etc... You don't need a credit card, but you need the billing info.

 

Why the need for a billing address

Even though the Xbox is region free, you still need the account region to match your location as far as purchases go. Xbox gift cards (point cards) are region locked. So they will only work in the region they are created for. So even if you made a US account,
you would have to purchase a US gift card.

 

You still have to add a billing address in case of an issue on your account. They use it for verification purposes.

 

it is just a way to proof that it is you and to make sure they can contact you if the girt card is invalid
