Need advice from the community!

Hi All

I am Australian, recently Neverwinter released, like everywhere but Australia because our "Authority" had not yet rated it. Anyways I seen on some other forums that I could change my region to US, download it and switch back Aus and be able to play, I checked
the region change and sure enough Neverwinter was there...

My question is, do I breach any of Microsofts Terms and Conditions by downloading the game this way? It is free to play and will be released in Oz anyways...

Would love to know if people have any insight, I skimmed the terms and conditions and couldn't see anything obviously, but I am not looking to get banned.

The day before GTA: Online heists released I was given a s**t ton of money on GTA. The next day I got home from work excited to play heists and my Xbox live account was suspended for two week :/. I did my research and learned that microsoft does not unsuspend accounts due to that "they don't know if your lying or not". So I created a silver account but I don't have gold to play the heists! So I was wondering if anyone from the community would be interested in helping me get u suspended/get gold (I don't get a paycheck for a while). If anyone has any help it would be greatly appreciated!

Changing your region to get stuff on the marketplace is a no no as far as I know. Not sure if it is just for free offers or everything on the marketplace.

 

Its is technically a no-no but i have done it.

 

I suppose the worst thing you could do would be to come to an official Microsoft Forum and announce your intention to breach Microsofts terms and conditions.

That would be the height of folly since you are inviting Microsoft to ban your account.

 

Loads of people have posted of doing it before (including myself) and not had a ban.

I suppose if i get a ban now then i will be eating my words but they are sure taking their time about it.

 

If its going to be released there anyway, why risk it?

Keep your region code where you live.

 

Australia will be doing you a favor if they never allow the game to be released. It's horrible. IMO.

 

As others have said, it is not recommended. Neverwinter is releasing soon for you soon anyways. I would not risk it

You have to trudge through hours of confusion before the game world begins to make coherent sense.

At the end of the day you can't knock someone for knowing what they like and what they don't.

 

Thanks all for the input, seems it could go either way, so guess it is best to wait, having said that I currently have a few games to knock over between now and when Neverwinter is released.

 

I'd wait it out man. Rather not risk it as the potential for a ban is strong. I wouldn't do it, even if it was a game I wanted.

 

I live in New Zealand and have changed my locale to Australia just to get voice commands unlocked. Other New Zealanders have done it too! A few months ago they Updated it so you have a choice of spoken languages mines on Aussie since there is no NZ English.
There isn't much difference between Aussie and NZ.

I had the same thing with Halo 4 for Xbox 360. Our government was LATE in rating the game, it released with M Australian and 4 days after it came out, our government decided to rate it R13. Which means I now can't sell the disc (if I wanted to which I don't,
as all games sold rated R MUST have the classification sticker). JB Hi Fi got many complaints about it.

Although Xbox 1 is region free, you shouldn't get games which are only available in the US/UK. There has been at least 2 Xbox 1 games which are NOT available for Australia and NZ. But then again, I wouldn't want to live in America, they get tornadoes there.

 

I have never done this and never will even though many others have said they do it all the time without consequence.

I just remember a lot of accounts being outright banned for taking advantage of other regions GwG when they were different on the 360, granted you're not really taking advantage of over regions deals, but it's definitely a grey area.

It's like Oddworld new and tasty, we still don't have it yet due to how efficient our board is with rating things.
