Need account info, but don't have original xbox.

I'm sure this question gets asked all the time, but here it goes. I don't have my old Xbox, and I made my original Xbox Live account closing in on 10 years ago. I don't know the email or password, but I do know the gamertag, and that the account isn't deleted,
because I just looked myself up using this Xbox/Microsoft account. My main reason for getting it back is to download all the games and dlc I used to have on my new Xbox.

If you have your info as master hec0 has stated you only need to be signed out of xbox live and recover your original account by following the prompts

 

will microsoft delete my gamertag or close my account due to not having xboxlive gold status. im planning on getting a gold card next month.

No, you can have a silver account, you don't need to be Gold.

They have spoken about deleting old inactive accounts, but this is only for accounts that haven't been used since the Original Xbox, so not Xbox 360 active accounts whether they be Gold or Silver.

No worries here. What you'll need to do is give phone support a call and explain the issue to them. So long as you can answer some account specific questions they'll give you the email address for it.

From there you'll be able to change the password to regain access to it.
