No...afraid not. The only thing you can do is fork out money for a change. MS does issue forced gt changes, but only if they feel like your GT violates the rules.

The only way to change your Gamertag is to pay the fee for doing so.

The only 'free' change is if your Gamertag is offensive and the Enforcement Team takes action, but then you will be assigned a random Gamertag and have no control over what it is and if you want your own you still need to pay the fee for doing so.

It's not an option you can choose. If your Gamertag is genuinely offensive and gets reported, the Enforcement Team will take action -
if it is offensive. You cannot just choose to have it changed for this reason. This scenario is not applicable to your situation.

Right, I get that that's what you're saying, but I'm saying this is not possible, and that if you want a change you will need to, as everyone else does, pay the fee.

However, in the meantime, you should definitely block communications with anyone sending you such messages and use the built-in tools to report them for these (avoid, file player reviews). Do not engage them further.

Unfortunately for you, some of us know what you're doing. This is called social engineering and is illegal. You aren't getting any hate messages. You're using the very story that many others claim in order to get it changed to avoid the $9.99 price to change
it. I'd be careful as this can lead to an account ban.

Part of the method involves having people send messages. I know how it works. I keep myself updated with things like this to help prevent what you're doing.

its not a violation of the code of conduct to have your name it is just not recommended to have your name in a tag that is all. but the other user is correct if you want a new name you will have to pay for it sorry, no free name changes.

Sorry, but no one here can give you a name change. The only way Microsoft will give a name change is if your name violates the code of conduct. You would have to have someone file a complaint on your account and if the enforcement team decides it does violate
the code, then they would issue a forced name change.

You're going to have to wait until you can pay for a change.
