Need a free gamertag change.

My Gamertag was reported by players and then Xbox randomly generated a new one. Last time about a year ago when this happened Xbox allowed me to change it to a new one for free. Can I please get a free Gamertag change? I should not have to pay for a new
one just because players report mine.

Nothing, but a hell of a marketing campaign. "How do you change a gamertag? Just do this, and today it's free", while the... other guy... can't change names at all, we are getting a free one.

They do offer a free one upfront, but they also auto assign us our names that are stupid.

I don't think they need to offer it free though, just cool idea, but not required i'm just glad they are giving the names back.

You are incorrect. Back then there were NOT any free gamertag changes. I was never given a free gamertag change. All you need to do is check my account and you'll see.

 

Last year that was the policy for a forced name change. The policy has changed since then and you will have to pay to change your name. There is no way to get a free change.

 

Policy = messed up!!! I can understand if a player has his friends report him for a free change. If that is the case then just keep record of the ones reporting the name and if they play together its a no brainer and then make them pay. But for the ones
that aren't having friends report it should be free considering they have no say on what other players think of the gamertag.

No. You would not be able to choose your new tag without paying.
There`s nothing you or anyone can do about it. Here are some Examples of inappropriate Gamertags include names that visually resemble, sound like, represent, hint at, abbreviate, or insinuate any of the following:

• Profane words or phrases
  
• Topics or content of a sexual nature
  
• Hate speech (including but not limited to racial, ethnic, or religious slurs)
  
• Unlawful drugs or controlled substances
  
• Unlawful activities
  

 

You had a free name change.It was changed from the offensive tag to the one you have now for free. Being abusive to people trying to answer your questions will get you booted of the forum as well.

maybe you should start following peoples advice

first and foremost if this is your 2nd forced name change then you have a major issue

TOO many forced name changes is a clear violation of the terms of use

you should be focused on reading and understanding the rules

its basic common sense

name changes are not issued unless it violates the code of conduct you can have tons of complaints against your name it will do no good

only if it violates the terms of use

too many forced name changes will lead to a perm suspension of your account

 

If Xbox really cares that much about gamertags and what they say 99% of the players gamertags would be changed. It's all these punks reporting gamertag because they get wooped in games and they're all but hurt. Xbox needs some common sense in the works ASAP.

 

Plus the only reason I came to the forums was because live chat support said to and they would hook me up with a name change.

 

It doesn't matter why you get reported. The enforcement team investigates every complaint and only takes action if you've done something to violate the terms. You can be reported a million times and nothing will happen if you haven't done anything wrong
