Ne console.

I am buying a next gen console. I would much rather have an Xbox one than a ps4 but I need to know a few things. I've read a lot about the 24 hour check ins. I have read that they are still a thing but if you don't have internet you can buy and play disc
games without ever checking in. Is this true. I will go to a friends to do the initial set up where you need internet. But when I go home I will not have internet signal at all. Can I still buy And play games.

They are not still a thing - the 24 hour checkins were removed before the Xbox One was released in response to feedback from customers. You need the internet for the initial setup - after that you can put the console into offline mode and play games as
you would expect.
