The VC that came with the Pre-Order will be available on the release date: 09/20/2016, but you can access the NBA 2K17 game, as part of the Pre-Order Early Access (4 days before standard release).

I remember one NBA installment that had a trial with a set of achievements tied to it. I think they called it the Prelude or something. That was something interesting and new to add to a demo.

I have had the same exact problem, my guess is that Watch Dogs 2 uses a file that NBA 2k17 also uses and XCC detects it as NBA 2k17.
