NBA 2K14 Will not Patch

Just put NBA 2K14 in the system, and knew I would need to patch since its been a while, and I get this message

"There was a problem with the update

This game or app needs an update, but something went wrong. For help visit Xbox.com/xboxone/update/help."

I went though the steps there and stopped short of running that update checker thing from a flash drive. All other games update fine. Is there any way to fix this?

major profile issues

I have seen people complaining about this on IGN. They just released the 3rd patch a few days ago. Did you get that? Also, try turning off the kinect functionality through the game menu.

I'd suggest a quick power cycle first to see if that helps.

1. While the console is on, press and hold the console’s Xbox button for 5 seconds.
   
2. The console will power down.
3. Wait 30 seconds, and then turn your console back on by again pressing the Xbox button.
   

If you don't have any luck with that then try uninstalling the game and re-installing it.

• Go into My Games & Apps
• Find NBA 2K14
• Press the Menu button and select Manage Game
  
• Highlight NBA 2K14 and press the Menu button
  
• Select Uninstall
  
  

Once you've done that, reinstall it, let it install any updates and see if it loads up without any issues.

 

Power Cycle = Always try first mode.
