Nat type

Discus and support Nat type in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have a strict nat type and have tried all the supposed solutions to open it up. Nothing works. Is this down to microsoft or is it my lousy router?... Discussion in 'XBoX on Consoles' started by superbrickie1, Mar 8, 2014.

    I have a strict nat type and have tried all the supposed solutions to open it up. Nothing works. Is this down to microsoft or is it my lousy router?

    NAT Type

    My NAT type is not working, I just got a new modem from Comcast, and now the NAT type is unavailable. Any suggestions?

    Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown

    Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?

    Who is your ISP?(Internet Service Provider):

    Please log on to your router's web interface and state whether the WAN/Internet IP listed there is a private IP (i.e. 10.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x - 172.31.x.x, or 192.168.x.x):

    Country: england. Modem: scientific atlanta. model number: epc2100r2. Router: belkin. Model number: f5d7234-4-hv5. It is wired. Have tried upnp on and off. No nat error. Isp provider: virgin media. Ip number: 192.168.2.1.

    Given your setup, I believe the IP you listed is the LAN IP of your Belkin router, not its WAN IP. That's okay. I'd suggest logging into your router and manually forwarding the following ports to the LAN IP of your Xbox One:

    Port 88 (UDP)

    Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

    If you have any other Xbox related port forwards or DMZ, please disable or delete them.

    I tried but it didnt work. i went to port forward.com and followed their steps and that seems to have worked thankfully. Thanks for the help though.Nat type :)

    What have you tried? Usually, opening your NAT involves some port forwarding from your router.

    You will need to figure out how to access the settings of your router. Once you do, you will need to:

    1. Set up a static IP for your Xbox One.

    2.
    Assign the proper ports     to your Xbox One's static IP address.

    UPnP may still be engaged. There are three conflicting settings in a router; UPnP, Port Forwards/Port Triggers and DMZ. Make sure to have only one of those set.

    port forward, port trigger, upnp, or dmz (only one, disable the others or verify disabled by default.

    If you use port forwarding or port triggering use port 3074 and also 3075 and 3076 (last two are specific to cod games)

    DMZ will provide the lowest latency and is easiest to setup.

    Regardless of what you use unplug router/ turn off for 30 seconds then turn back on, and do the same with the xbox.

    Also make sure to setup a static ip/ reserved ip in the router dhcp (if that is what you use)
