    NAT Type

    My NAT type is not working, I just got a new modem from Comcast, and now the NAT type is unavailable. Any suggestions?

    NAT TYPE

    NAT Type is what the Xbox sees when its trying to communicate through the router

    You can try and clear the alternate MAC address on the Xbox and see if the NAT Type opens after the Xbox reboots

    If that doesn't work then you'll want to log into your router and look for the feature usually called UPnP.

    Upnp is typically on by default in your router. Choose the option to turn it off, save changes and reboot the router.

    After the router reboots. Go back in and enable that Upnp feature, save changes and reboot the router again.

    Go back to the Xbox and check the NAT Type and see what shows up there and try a power cycle on the Xbox one if needed if the NAT Type is still unavailable.

    Also, the NAT Type can be unavailable if your router can't connect online either, it can't open ports if it can't go online so you may want to power cycle your modem too

    Another way, you can change some of your network settings and open ports through a little technical trick I learned. If you go to the website linked below, it will explain how to do this process. How you do this is all you should have to do is type in your
    internet IP address (IPv6 Address) and it should take you to a login page. Your username and password should be Admin. Then from there you can access your router/IPv6 settings and change them. You can also open and or close ports allowing you to open ports
    needed for gaming. Which I will also link below so you know what ports you need open.

    Below just in case I am also listing the ports that Xbox Live needs to be optimal for your experience for if you have trouble accessing the site or if you have trouble finding the ports needed.

    • Port 88 (UDP)
    • Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 80 (TCP)
    • Port 500 (UDP)
    • Port 3544 (UDP)
    • Port 4500 (UDP)

    What have you tried? Usually, opening your NAT involves some port forwarding from your router.

    You will need to figure out how to access the settings of your router. Once you do, you will need to:

    1. Set up a static IP for your Xbox One.

    2.
    Assign the proper ports     to your Xbox One's static IP address.

    UPnP may still be engaged. There are three conflicting settings in a router; UPnP, Port Forwards/Port Triggers and DMZ. Make sure to have only one of those set.

    port forward, port trigger, upnp, or dmz (only one, disable the others or verify disabled by default.

    If you use port forwarding or port triggering use port 3074 and also 3075 and 3076 (last two are specific to cod games)

    DMZ will provide the lowest latency and is easiest to setup.

    Regardless of what you use unplug router/ turn off for 30 seconds then turn back on, and do the same with the xbox.

    Also make sure to setup a static ip/ reserved ip in the router dhcp (if that is what you use)
