Nat Type unavailable and blocked chat on xbox party

I have been having a problem joining my friends party on xbox and I know to check my Nat type because thats what I have done when I had problems similar to this.

But now when I go and check my nat it says unavailable. I only have problems connecting to people through parties and I can still watch videos and play online games no problem.

Nothing is wrong with my internet everything else works fine and I have tried turning off my router and hard resetting my xbox and nothing is working.

I really don't know what else to do, any advice or tips would be appreciated.

NAT Type: Unavailable

We have two xbox ones in our house and we are trying to use party chat. It says it is being blocked by network settings. Our NAT type is unavailable. After checking the multiplayer connection, it says "Can't get a Teredo IP address.What does this mean, and
how do I fix it? Resetting the router isn't getting it done.

I think I have same problem. I can party chat on xboxone no.1 downstairs, but cant party chat on xbox one no.2 upstairs.

BT home hub is IPV4 (IPV6 not available at this time with my BT provider).

NAT type for both is moderate.

When I apply the DMZ setting for one of the Xboxs its NAT type goes to unavailable.

I don't seem to be able to find a fix.

Looks like BT hub doesn't support two xbox party chat at once.

 

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try power cycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down?

If that doesn't work then do the same thing again but, this time, after power cycling leave the console off and unplug your modem router for 5 seconds. When that's back up and running again things should be good.

 

I have the same problem, it only started 2 days ago, I have spent hours trying to resolve this, and I feel I've tried anything and it's about time to give up.

Cannot get a Teredo IP Address

I have tried unplugging a plugging the router in many times.

I've held the power button for 15 seconds, unplugged all cords, waited more than 10 mins to plug in again. Didn't work

I have reset the xbox to factory settings, wiping all games and apps. Didn't work

All settings in the router are as they should be. I have tried all the port forwarding suggestions. Didn't work

I have verified that I have a public IP.

I have tried the suggestion above by onyxishere and it didn't work.

Various youtube videos suggested things like clearing the MAC address, which didn't work either. I don't know what else to try.

This Xbox has been working fine with all current hardware and configuration for the past year or so, and started doing this out of the blue.

This affects game chat, and I can no longer access the store to download purchased games. Internet access for multiplayer game play and updates is fine.

 

I forgot to mention I tried all of the steps here:
support.xbox.com/.../multiplayer-connection-error-solution several times, and they didn't fix the problem.

 

If you have a Windows 10 PC, Check in your Xbox App in configurations the "Teredo Ip adress" If it isnt working, try reseting your Router.

 

After 2 days, my console magically fixed itself while I was at work, and says NAT: Open.

In case it works for others, this was my solution.

1) Try for 2 days to follow every instruction on the internet you can find, try it and watch it fail.

2) After seeing the "Cannot get a Teredo IP address" for the twenty thousandth time, give up.

3) Get ready for work with the intention of advertising the Xbox for sale on Ebay when you get home.

4) Go to work.

5) Come home from work and find your Xbox saying NAT: Open

It may not work for everyone, but that's what I did and it worked.

 

Glad to hear your console got access to the net again. This may have been an issue on your ISP side. Next time give them a call and speak to their tech department to ensure that everything is running smoothly. It's a good step to try as well.

 

Thanks guys for all the help, I had all the problems everyone has replied and did all the steps and I went to check it again and it just fixed itself, so I'm not sure what really happened but next time it does I'll come back here and try all the tips you

Internet is perfect but i cant connect to xbox live and its annoying

 

I just started having same issue.

NAT shows unavailable. All XBOX services unavailable.

Network connection says good. Multiplayer connection says good. It says I'm cconnected to XBox Live.

I've done multiple resets, starting with normal ones, then after 4 of those, I unplugged power cord from both XBOX and my WiFi Modem (I'm just using a WiFi modem, no router). I left it unplugged about 10 mins.

Plug it back in.

Ran the tests, they stilll say everything is good.

I did the trick I saw on YouTube, after multiplayer test, all triggers and bumpers, and it says I'm behind a port-restricted NAT.

My internet works on other devices without any issue at all, including the laptop I'm using to write this message, my phone, and my roommates PS4 that we use to watch netflix in the front room. All of that works fine.

Can someone report what is going on here? It's impossible to find any info addressing it on XBOX support. Help?

 

Its an update error. Try signing out, unplug your console for a minute or 2, the boot it back up. The update should make another attempt to install (or configure, depending on the system). May happen in the background. This is what I did, and it resolved
itself....could be coincidental...idk.
