Nat type strict

Hello, Bit of a awkward one, I'm on xbox live and my Nat is set to strict and it takes hours to find a game if any at all I've tryed holding both bumpers n triggers and it says my network is behind a port symmetric Nat.. I've also turned my xbox to energy
saver as I read somewhere that my help but still no luck.... Now here's the awkward part I haven't got access to the router it's my neighbours, he hasn't got a problem with me using it and he knows I play online etc and sometimes even comes round for a game
but he travels a lot so can't get to view IP address's match or go on to the settings as I don't know the details is there anything I can do to solve the problem I know the wifi name and that's about it which is 02wirelessxxx-xxx I'm from the uk by the way
and he's due back till early march and his brother has the spare key who lives 200+ miles away I plan to ring him tomorrow and see if knows anymore details on his internet provider etc but apart from that my guess is I'm up the creek without a paddle. Cheers

Make sure you haven't got a strict nat type here!

If it's still strict after you open the proper ports, try resetting your modem and router, then hard reset your console.

Open Port

Just select your router and follow the instructions. Do not download anything from the site, it's not necessary. It's a safe site, but port forwarding manually is very easy.

 

All the ways I know how to correct the NAT issue require logging onto the router. First some routers NATS can be adjusted. Second is to put your Xbox into a DMZ, a lot of people say its dangerous since it puts it outside the firewall and leaves all the
ports open which leaves it unsecured, its a small chance but possible. The third is to port forward your Xbox here's a website to help with that
