NAT TYPE - strict, even AFTER port forwarding+Static IP!

Can anyone please help me? No one is home for activision and xbox can't help me.

I've set my pc to static IP. Ends in .50 MY xbox ip ends in .30

Port forwarding to .50 after making my PC static with port forwarding utilities. Also: Checked the ports, they are open. Should I have used the .30 IP adderss instead even though the directions say to use your PC IP?

I did all the port-forwarding as here:
    http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Technicolor/TC8305C/Xbox_One.htm

I did not do port triggering but I have that option.

Destiny and CoD: Advanced Warfare BOTH give me messages that NAT type is strict, even when settings in xbox network show the Nat type to be open.

SIgh. AM I lagging or what? Multilayer + Connection tests passed as good.

    :)

    Need help with NAT settings

If you've assigned a Static IP to the Xbox in your router's configuration settings, try using that IP under Manual Settings, and then forward ports to that IP. You can see our port forwarding guide here:

Keep getting disconnected from XBOX Live

    Hey-oo,

I would like to add, I was getting disconnect problems recently. It could well be a port issue for you as it was for me.

As Mister Gwyther stated, it could be your wireless signal dropping, but it could also be a UPnP or NAT issue.

Hopefully that should resolve your connection issues, but if you are still receiving problems after hard-wiring your Xbox to the router and enabling UPnP, it could well be a NAT problem:

More often than not NAT problems can be resolved by a static IP and port forwarding.

If your NAT returns moderate/strict you'll have to set a static Xbox IP, then forward the right ports directly to your Xbox.

Give this guide a run-through, it will tell you what you need to know to fix your NAT type with static IP's and port forwarding -

If you need any further assistance don't forget to ask!

NAT TYPE - strict, even AFTER port forwarding+Static IP!

The NAT settings on the One have been an issue since launch. Mine changes from time to time with no input from me, it's on Microsoft's end. It always seems to happen after a big MP game launch.

I'd give it some time to sort itself out, we shouldn't be needing to mess with port forwarding on a console when I haven't had to do it on my PC in years.

  5. Go into settings then select network then advanced option and then select clear mac filter. Your console will restart hopefully with the new setting that you provided doing the port forwarding and static ip

^^^This. I've been doing this since I learned how to do it a long time ago and it never fails. I've found it to be the quickest and easiest method that works and for me, it has
the fewest headaches or potential issues that seem to pop up.

I did it with my 360 and the NAT stayed open 100% of the time afterward. With my X1, I did it and it has stayed open 99% of the time. The only time it ever showed 'Moderate' was
when Xbox live seemed to be having problems and had service alerts. I did as Maximum Extreme suggested and cleared the alternate mac address, did a hard reset of the console and it was fixed.

Hey, guys! I found you over in the Xbox General Discussion forums, and moved you over here to support. I'm very sorry to see about the disconnect issues! If you could, I'm looking to find out which type of Xbox 360 you've got. You should have either the
original 360, the 360 S, or the 360 E. If you aren't sure which one you have, you can determine this by the kind of power button you have:

    • Xbox 360 Original: White or Black power button (depending on which color console you have).
    • Xbox 360 S: Silver/chrome power button that is touch sensitive, larger circle.
    • Xbox 360 E: Silver/chrome power button that needs to be pushed in like the Original console, smaller circle.
This will help us out a lot if you could provide this!

In the meantime, please check out our known issues thread on this device you have. You can set your firewall to low or disable it to help alleviate
this issue. If that doesn't work, please reach out to Comcast for further troubleshooting. NAT TYPE - strict, even AFTER port forwarding+Static IP! :D
