NAT TYPE/ Router help

Just recently we switched from comcast to ATT Uverse. The new modem they gave me was a 2wire and it worked great. After issues with the tv they came back and swapped out the modem for an **** nvg589. Ever since then my nat has went from always open to always
moderate. I guess from what I see is a lot of people have problems with this modem since it doesn't support UPnP and it doesn't allow the correct ports to be opened. My question is if I buy my own net gear router and switch the wireless on the modem off, will
I still run into issues with the correct ports not being open since I am no longer using it as a router but instead using the net gear as the wireless network? Or will i still run into the same problem? Im not great with this whole network thing and trying
to configure all of these option to get it to work is just to much. I have 2 xbox's and it is impossible to have them both work with the current setup now. Thanks for any input!

Port forwarding question

It would really help if Microsoft would actually respond to the X1's NAT issues, there are a lot of posts on the official forums, or explain what type of set up the X1 needs, like does it need an IPv6 compatible router for example.

 

360 Slim Doesn't See Network

This may be because a couple options, You are not close enough to your router. Simple. Or you may have a closed NAT Type, you may need to manually connect it through your xbox's configure option in the system. If not that, restart your router. Keep it unplugged for 30 seconds. If none, feel free to Pvt Message me.

 

If you run a test connection and after thats done directly push LB+RB+LT+RT It gives you a status report with "detailed nat information". if in the router only uPnP is enabled it should say, "Your network is behind a cone NAT". If it is, press B, and you'll
see your nat is open.

Is the message gives you a completely different message, please let us know also with the status-code it gives you. Im gonna take a look for an manual for that Arris in the meantime..

In my network settings under current network status it reads service info unavailable why

 

Normally your can see the service status of xbl there. At the moment there are some issues on xbl so it may be that the one is not able to read the status and display it right now.

The status displayed there is the same you get more detailed at
support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status

 

sorry for the late response everyone but when i do the detailed report it says i am behind a port restricting Nat
