    Nat Type Problems


    My NAT type has been strict lately. I finally gave my xbox one a static ip inside the range of 2-254, but outside the range of my DHCP of my modem. I forwarded all of the ports I needed to. Yesterday when I did this, the NAT Type went to open, but today
    it's strict. Yesterday, I had only forwarded one port, not all of them, because I didn't know I had to do more than one. Today it won't even go to open, even after I forwarded all of the ports and changed the ip again. I've had this problem in the past, where
    I'll port forward, through a setting where it automatically does it for me if I put the type of console it is, and it would go to open for a day and then go to strict. Normally my NAT type is atleast moderate, but lately it's been strict. I'm running out of
    options and I'm not sure what to do. I have restarted my modem and xbox many times, and I did have the xbox completely off when I restarted my modem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Like i Souperb mentioned, you need to provide us the exact make and model of your router and modem (eg Netgear WGR614 v3 connected to a Motorola SB2100 cable modem)

    Did you perform the following steps?

    1. Set all your consoles to DHCP, so that they get their IP information automatically.

    2. Ensure that UPnP is enabled on your router?

    If you did those two, and it still doesn't work, we'll need more details about your network setup.
