    Hi,

    I have a wired connection from my xbox directly to my dual band modem. I have conducted a cold reboot and ensured my IP address is the same for both my xbox and router. In network setting, my NAT TYPE is open, but in Black Ops 3 the NAT TYPE is strict. I
    am trying to join a lobby of someone who has a moderate NAT TYPE, and I'm not able to. Why is my NAT TYPE Strict just for this game? I have played Halo 3 with this user under the same conditions. Any suggestions?

    I wonder if it's possible that you have a NAT problem. Your NAT should be set to 'Open' to be able to join games on Black Ops 2. Follow this link to check your NAT settings.

    Man, if I couldn't play Black Ops II I'd be bored out of my skull!!! Lets try and resolve this issue!



    This sounds like a NAT type error. There are 3 settings to NAT Open > Moderate > Strict. Yours may be set to either strict or moderate! Have a look at the

    NAT Type solution     page to try and resolve this issue!

    In order to ensure best possible connection in CoD games - you and your friend may want to follow this advice- (C&P'd from the first article, hope this helps.)

    To achieve the best connection when playing Call of Duty games online, it is recommended that users set port forwarding on their router to the IP address of their console or PC using port 3074 User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and Transmission Control Protocol
    (TCP).

    If there is more than one console or PC used for gaming on your home network, you can redirect the second console or PC used for gaming to port 3075 UDP/TCP, a third console or PC used for gaming to port 3076, etc.

    The above information is correct and will help BUT I can tell you this that what it tells you in game is 100% irrelevant. The only one that matters is the one that is on your xbox. I have tested this dozens of times. If you cant connect to your friend who
    is showing moderate in game he is probably moderate on his console as well. Just to give you more info, the port they tell you to open are the same ones that you need to have open to connect to XBL, You cant open the same ones more then once

    Actually that information in that link is not correct at all for xbox one. For ps4 maybe but not xbox one.

    Xbox live dashboard uses port 3074. This port has no effect on the NAT in black ops 3.

    Black ops 3 needs port 3075 open. So forwarding port 3075 should give you an open NAT in that game.

    Ideally UPnP should do this for you but if it's not working properly for some reason then you need to manually forward port 3075

    I wonder if it's possible that you have a NAT problem. Your NAT should be set to 'Open' to be able to join games on Black Ops 2. Follow this link to check your NAT settings.

    This sounds like a NAT type error. There are 3 settings to NAT Open > Moderate > Strict. Yours may be set to either strict or moderate! Have a look at the
