NAT Type on Advanced Warfare

when I go into my settings/network on my Xbox it says that my NAT Type is Open. But when I go onto Call of Duty it says on the menu screen that its strict. It lets me play games but it kicks me out after a few minutes and I can't hear anybody online talking.

things I've tried..

Resetting my router

Resetting my Xbox

Done a factory reset on my Xbox

On my Xbox I've gone into settings, test multiplayer connection and held the triggers and bumpers down and sometimes it'll say my NAT is behind a cone or something but most of the time it'll say "Cannot get a teredo IP address"

my router is a Sky Hub SR102 and I tried port forwarding the correct ports but when I did it I couldn't connect to the internet at all so I had to reset everything

STRICT NAT TYPE

Xbox One Nat type issues. me and my housemate, both have strict nat types on Advanced warfare. i have opened up the required ports but is still showing strict for both of us.we have a wireless connection.

 

cannot join games

I have gold and open NAT type but for some reason I can't join games on advanced warfare it says 21 good games but none join

Step 1: Check the Xbox LIVE and Call of Duty Status Pages

Check the Xbox LIVE Service Status page, as well as the Server Status of the Call of Duty game you are playing:

Step 2: Improve your Home Network Quality

The quality of a home network will have the biggest impact on game connection. We suggest the following steps. Note that you can test your Xbox LIVE connection at any time. 1.Be sure to restart your router. This will often solve the issue.

2.Make sure you are playing the game using a wired Ethernet connection. Playing a game using a wireless connection is the primary cause of lag and connectivity issues. Wi-Fi has a wide variance in reliability and bandwidth, and can dramatically affect the
quality of online gameplay. A wired connection will maintain the minimum bandwidth connection that is required for online gaming.

3.Disable any firewall or security features on your router. See your router’s instruction manual or visit the router manufacturer’s website for more details.

4.Enable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) on your router. This will automatically route the correct data to the correct ports.

5.Set port forwarding on your router to the IP address of your Xbox using port 3074 User Datagram Protocol (UDP). If there are multiple consoles on your home network, you can also redirect UDP ports 3074, 3075, and 3076 to the console (one port per console).

6.Place the IP address of your Xbox into the DMZ of your router.

If the above steps improve your network connection to the game, you may want to assign a static IP address to your Xbox 360 within your home network. This will ensure that the configurations you made do not need to be repeated. Please note that Satellite,
hot spot, and 3G/4G internet connections are not considered broadband and are not supported.

Do you have multiple consoles on the network? If so, you'll have to add ports 3075, and 3076 (one port per console).

I've managed to do it now, I just put my IP on the DNS and it's set to open now.

I've got another little issue and I'd rather post it here rather than create a new thread. I've got a tritton juba i headset but I can't hear anybody talking although it appears on the screen that they're talking?

 

i have had the same problem can you please tell me how you managed to change the conncection. ... i see you changed your ip on the dns... wherer did you find this setting????

 

Do you mean you put your consoles IP address into the DMZ on your router ?

 

surely if I put my xbox one in DMZ it will leave it open to threat

 

It did this to me today too. My console was "open" but CoD was "strict" - despite this, I was still able to play the game with friends with nary any lag or disconnects whatsoever, and actually dominated the top of the scoreboards with consistent victories
for well over 10+ matches during that one session. I find that to be kind of at odds. Why would it tell me my NAT is "strict" when it may actually not be?

 

This is so ridiculous...pay next to $500 dollars for a system and the only help Xbox give you is telling customers they basically need to be a computer technician to use there console. What if I don't know what a DMZ is or how to access it!? What if I don't
even have a computer to hard wire to my router to access the router ip info!? Xbox need to figure this out and make it easier for users
