NAT TYPE (NETWORK BEHING PORT RESTRICTED NAT)

Recently i port forwarded a list of ports from xbox.com to open my nat type, and it was open for a while, but now today it is off for some reason. im not sure why i didnt do anything to it, my xbox is connected to the modem using a 1 foot ethernet cord so
its a solid connection. any suggestions how to open it?

They have slower internet and you are wondering why your connection is slower?

Depends on the router on how to disable NAT or make NAT less intense. We will need your service provider (at the place that has restrictive NAT) and the router they have.

Those will help us reconfigure a router / modem with different nat settings.

Opening my NAT type through my modem and port forwarding my Xbox, as well as some extra tweaking the official Xbox website recommended, fixed all my connection issues.

For accessing my devices, I type in 192.168.1.1 into the address bar, enter my username and password which is usually "admin" and "password" for most people, go to advanced settings, go to WAN setup, change NAT filtering to open and disable SIP ALG. It may be a bit different for you depending on what modem you're using. After doing this, check out the links I posted. Good luck.

it was a hitron cgn modem with rogers, i only have an xbox one connected to it, along with my computer. its upnp enabled and it was moderate while i was having the issue. i ended up unplugging my modem and doing something im not sure what it was to fix the
issue and bring it back to open nat type.

to sum it all up though when it says behind a port restricted nat what things can i do to get rid of that message on the network statistics page?

 

Do you also have a router or are you using the routing capabilities of the Hitrron CGN Gateway?

 

Under "normal" conditions you would obtain a public routable IP address from the provider, but with CGN (carrier grade NAT) it works a bit differently. With CGN, by design, uses addresses from the private address realm within the providers network. These
addresses are then distrubutet out for different customers, and function a bit like your own router/NAT, in regard to address translation.

Could you verify if your provider are using CGN. Making all of your traffic NATd within your providers network.
