Discus and support NAT type Moderate in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have tried everything to get the NAT open but nothing works UPNP is enabled, Xbox is in DMZ zone, Modem is set to bridged, I really don't know what...     I have tried everything to get the NAT open but nothing works UPNP is enabled, Xbox is in DMZ zone, Modem is set to bridged, I really don't know what is the issue.





    I Live in Hamilton Ontario Canada

    Modem brand & model number: **** TG862

    Router brand & model number: Linksys EA4500

    Internal N Adapter

    Things you have tried: Portforwarding, port triggering, DMZ

    Is UPnP Enabled?: Yes

    NAT type Moderate

    Who is your ISP: Source

    After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" press “Y” for "More Info”. In the pop-up that appears, what are the following values, if shown? (If a value below does not appear for you, just leave it blank.)

    W: 0000 - 0021

    X: 0000 - F001

    Y: 20A8 - 4860

    Z: 8015 - 1918

    ID: 0007 - 0000

    L: 0015 - 10F0

    Q: 8015 - 100D

    T: Wireless

    D: 192.168.1.1, 0.0.0.0

    S:WPA2

    C: 10

    Okay, it may be down to your NAT Type being strict or moderate. Have a look at the

    Nat Type Strict (Or Moderate)     to find out if you have a strict or moderate NAT Type, and how to resolve it.

    As I wrote I tried portforwarding and if putting it the DMZ didn't work obviously portforwarding wont....

    Can you please detailing out how you've configured your Arris TG862 to be operating in bridge mode.

    Do you only use one console (Xbox), connected to your router?

    I don't know I am not able to configure the modem myself, the ISP does that I had to call them to bridge it.

    Router is connected to the modem and Xbox is connected wirelessly to my Router. I have a lot of devices though.

    Ok! So I assume you only have one Xbox connected to your router.

    Can we rewind and take this from the beginning.

    Start your console and navigate to Xbox Network Settings. Select Configure Network. Select the Additional settings tab and Restore network settings to factory defaults.

    Turn off your console.

    Visit the Linksys website, to make sure your router is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware. If there's a more recent version available than the current one, update your router's firmware and reset (restore settings to factory settings) your router
    afterwards.

    Make sure Port Forwarding/Virtual Server, Port Triggering and DMZ is disabled and make sure UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) is ticked enable. Save/Apply.

    Go to your router's firewall settings and if 'Block/Filter Anonymous Internet Request' is present and enabled, tick this feature to be disabled/turned off. Save/Apply.

    Reboot your router and wait one minute for it to connect properly.

    Turn on your console and reconfigure wireless settings.

    A soon as your console has connectivity to Live, go to Xbox Network Setttings and select Test Xbox Live Connection and let us know if you see any problem, related to your NAT's behavior.

    Post back and let us know how that goes and we'll go from there.

    I did everything you said and disabled my Guest network. Tests went fine and Gears of war 3 straight out tells me NAT is open. Thank you!

    So you have two solutioins xSimpleDRIFTERx:

    1) Upgrade your linksys WRT54G to one that has software on it that supports multiple xboxes.

    1a) Dlink DIR-655 works very well and can vary in price between $50-$100 or

    1b) Netgear WNR2000, around $50-$60, (either v2 or v3 plus log into it and set the NAT filter to OPEN when your configuring it for the 1st time)

    1c) Another router on the page Shad0wManUK linked.

    2) Open ports to a single xbox so it has Open NAT and let the other one have strict or Moderate.

    P.S. NAT does affect connections to dedicated servers like Xbox LIVE itself, Netflix, Youtube or other Apps or games

    with dedicated servers, most notably games from EA. It only affects the other PEOPLE on live that you can connect to.

    P.P.S. If your you have a DSL connection your modem is likely a router also and regardless of either situation, you'll need to forward ports from your modem to your router.

    To awnser your question: 'No it wil not fix your NAT problem'...

    Can anyone verifie that! ;-D

    But your next question would be how to open your NAT settings.

    The awnser is not that difficult. But your have to know how to navigate your router.

    Go to your Xbox --> Settings --> System --> Network Settings --> Configure Network

    Now you see the IP adres of your Xbox 360 and you see Gateway.

    Write down there 2 numbers.

    The Gateway is your router's IP, the IP adres of your XBox 360 you need to open the ports.

    Open a browser on a PC that's also on your home network, now just enter the Gateway adres, like:

    http://192.168.168.0

    Press 'enter', now log in to your router, go to Port Foward.

    Open the following ports:

    TCP 3074

    UDP 3074

    UDP 53

    UDP 88

    To the IP adres of your Xbox 360 you wrote down.

    Save these settings, and you're ready to game with an open NAT!

    When ever you have problems with this again, make sure you check if your IP adres of your Xbox console didn't change.
