NAT Type issues since November Dashboard Update - question from 0 technical person

Hi There,

First of all, I am terrible at technical things so I can't follow long technical instructions and appreciated your understanding on this. Since November Dashboard update, my NAT Type keeps showing Moderate with restricted port. Before the recent update,
I was able to hold both triggers and bumpers that was changing NAT type from moderate to Open. It was easy as it was simple to do it. Since the update, that push trigger and bumper method does not work and I keep showing moderate. I am a hardcore multiplayer
gamer and this unfortunately results poor gaming experience and party app issues.

As mentioned, I am not good at technical things so can't do those steps that shows how to change router/modem settings etc. I am not confident to do those steps and have concern to crash all home network while doing them so.... its was so easy to use triggers
and bumpers method and I don't understand why that method is no longer working? Is there another way, similar to old method, without touching to router/modem settings?

NAT Type

My NAT type is not working, I just got a new modem from Comcast, and now the NAT type is unavailable. Any suggestions?

What router do you have?

it sounds like you could have a router with poor UPnP support.

A possible fix would be to use the address reservation feature of your router to always give the xbox one the same IP address. On some routers it could be called DHCP reservation.

Alternatively you could use the DMZ or port forwarding. This is problematic though if you have multiple games consoles in your household.

So you are best to post the make and model number of your modem and router and someone who knows them routers may be able to help you set it up.

 

Thank you for your response. My routers brand is Edimax and model is AC750. But as I mentioned, I have no idea how to change settings of my router. I am looking for a solution, if exists, within my xbox. Same as holding both triggers and bumpers to change
NAT type as before which is not an option anymore.
