    NAT type issue

    Hello all

I've been on the call of duty fourm and BT fourm with no luck so this is my last hope

My call of duty black ops 3 NAT type is strict yet my xbox one NAT type is open. I really want to get my COD NAT type open as I can't stand these laggy games.

My xbox one does have a static IP and my router setting (BT home hub 2) has the "Keep this IP adress" option enabled for my xbox one so the consles ip adress is static

I've port forwarded all the neccessary ports needed for bo3 then assigned them to my xbox ones ip in the router settings.

This had no affect on my call of dutys NAT type and it was still strict and my xboxs nat type stayed open.

I had upnp enabled when i did all this so I tryed the same with it off and that only made my xbox's nat type go to strict ;(

So besides putting my xbox into dmz and removing its static IP is there anything im doing wrong with the port forwarding process ? becuase I've honestly been trying to open my nat type on COD for about 3 weeks with no sucess.

Any one able to help atall , Id thank you forever becuase I can't see that there is no solution to this ;(

    :)

    NAT type issue

Pretty much same as LimeiiKing12. Except we have 3x Xboxone, two wired (virgin media superhub2 to lan hub) in same room, one shows strict NAT in Black Ops 3 the other is Open all the time, Third Xbox One is on WiFi connection and again NAT is strict, all
three consoles state open NAT with no packet loss all low ping and never any issue on any other game. Port triggering enabled for all Xbox ports and the Black Ops 3 port 3075 UDP.

Placing consoles in DMZ fails to cure, UPnP is on, firewall is off, DHCP addresses (have tried static and no change).

Suggestions? As my girfriend and son would love for all three to have zero lag/stutter which this issue causes.

    Thanks.

Only other thing I can think of is try hard resetting the Xbox or try Xbox support and see if they can help

This question may seem a little bit out there, but how have you got you router set up? I used to work for Sky in the broadband team so going through loads of troubleshooting with people was part of the job.

You need to make sure your router is NOT plugged into an extension socket in the house and that it is plugged into the master socket in the property. Normally these have BT or Openreach written on them with two screws underneath a solid perforation. Hopefully
you are plugged into your master socket. This is a lot easier to talk someone through I can tell you that.

I know you have said you've reset your router but have you held the reset button and not just turned the router off or pulled the plug out?

I hope I'm not coming across like a total looney here.

Let me know how your setup and ill try help as much as I can buddy!

I have the same problem with my Xbox and my son's. Mine is in the DMZ, yet the NAT type is still moderate. Son's Xbox is port forwarded, and again, it's moderate. No matter how times I reset the router, reset Xbox's, etc etc, they both end up with a moderate
NAT type. The problem is the Hub and/or it's firmware.

You'd think in this day and age that ISPs would make routers, or at least firmware that caters for gamers.

    Hello!

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forums with this situation. I understand you're having trouble partying up with your friends in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 even though your NAT type is OPEN. Do you have issues with other games playing multiplayer
with friends? If you don't I would recommend contacting the
Call of Duty Black Ops IIII Community
and see if there is any more information or if this is a known issue. Let us know with a reply how it goes

Hi Alonso! I'm Rostom, an Independent Advisor. I will be glad to help you here. Sorry to know about what happened. No worries, we will do our best now to get this sorted out.

The NAT type is based on your network configuration especially with your router settings. Since you mentioned that you've already reset both your router and Xbox, the best option here is to try switching your network from wired to wireless or if possible, try using a different router. You could also try using your mobile data hotspot to isolate the issue.

If nothing is working, you would need to configure your router manually using the port forwarding feature. You may ask assistance from your ISP if you don't know how to access those settings on your router. Please see the link below about port forwarding: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne...
