NAT TYPE is Open

    NAT TYPE is Open


    I've tried online solutions to my problems, but I just seem to limit internet access to other things in my household, so I'm at a loss.

    My Xbox One tells me that I have an Open NAT Type, but Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare tells me that I have Strict. I have an Actiontec GT784WN. If someone could help me just so I can play a game, it'd be much appreciated.

    Xbox connection issues HELP!!!

    What do you mean sharing internet? Like if we're in the same house? Nope, we're both in our own homes, his NAT type says open and my NAT type also says open.

    Those instructions on that site are incomplete. They tell you the standard xbox live ports but don't mention the fact that call of duty requires it's own port.

    For Advanced Warfare you need to forward UDP port 3076 to get an open NAT.

    Follow those instructions but instead of the ports mentioned just forward port 3076.

    Your lag problem isn't be caused by a Strict or Moderate NAT. It is a common misconception that the NAT type causes lag, it does not. The NAT or Network Address Translation is part of your network providers firewall settings, it is essentially an on/off
    switch not a fast/slow switch. Unfortunately, the NAT settings for mobile Internet are controlled by the provider and there’s no getting around a service with a NAT set to Strict.

    Unfortunately lag with 3G and 4G Internet connections are very common. Could you do this
    Speed Test and post your results back? Thanks
