    NAT type D:

Hey guys. So I've started playing cod since BO2 came out. And my internet is quite fast. However, I have a strict NAT type and already have spent the past year looking for a way to "open" it. I've settled by playing via "Join game in progress." This was
the only way I could play: By connecting to someone in a game or lobby. However it only works with people who have Moderate or Open NAT types. D: . If you have an Open NAT type (preffered NAT type D: ;) please add me as a Friend so i can join your games. (If you are wondering
if this will make you laggier. Don't worry, because I will still be using my internet to join the games, I just need your connection as...sort of a gateway to the game NAT type D: :)

If you are online for long periods of time, or play a lot. Please add me as a friend NAT type D: :) When i join your games, I wont bug you with questions. Infact! You wont even know I'm there NAT type D: :D

    :)

  5. ^^ Same here. It'll be open for a few days, then moderate an d then back to open. Bipolar NAT, honestly.

  6. I have an ethernet hub before my router. One run goes to the router and one straight to the console.

Without going through the router you dont have to worry about any of that .............. no nat settings, no port forwarding or dmzs etc.

Not everyone can do this since many isps have a modem/router combo, but you can pick up a hub rather cheap and it eliminates a lot of the questions about your own connection. There are still other things to look at as far as connection quality goes but
its an easy fix for some of it.

I have an Ethernet hub from linksys and have not used it since blops2 early on. Maybe I will set it up tonight. I feel as if I get less speed but want my 360 to have an Ethernet connection also.

With Verizon Fios I can not do that TOG. They run an optical cable into your WiFi router from the street connection. No true hardline to my Xboxes unless I go from my router to hub.

  9. I know my inlaws have dsl through att and they have a combo setup. I imagine many of the isps are like that.

No sense in putting it after the router though, as the purpose is to eliminate the router and all its security features. It would only be possible for those who have a separate modem and router.

What gets me is how in the cod ghost game my Nat is open but shows moderate for the 360 and x1. Funny. Soon guess I will be going to staples tomorrow and pick another 25 ft Ethernet wire. I would go now but it is freezing outside. Gotta do some stapling
of old wires anyway so I'll get that out of the way right now.

might be the level of service you have, many of them show you need to pay this much to do these things online. Sort of an add thing to get you to buy the bigger plans. Yet some take it serious, if your not on the high plan that says online games under it,
    they wont open it.

Like getting Port 25 open, so you can use your own domains for a mail client. Its always an hr phone call to get bumped to top tier service that knows what I need and doesn't try and read me directions to set up mail.

Mine does this to. I am actually playing on the Xbox One, but for some odd reason mine said Open at first, then Moderate the next time I logged on. Also, I had the Xbox One check the internet connection and it said itself that my NAT was Open. The game
when I load it says Moderate.

TOG I have a linksys 10/100 5-port workgroup switch model ezxs55w. Not a hub. Just did some research on it while I was away a bit and thank God I got this thing back in my blops1 days for like 20 bucks. It has great reviews from researchers and consumers.
Gonna set it up right now.

  14. just some copy pastes from support sites in case anyone is missing some details. Note the parts highlighted in blue and be sure to get forward ALL the proper ports for youir situation.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    360

1.Be sure to restart your router. This will often solve the issue.

2.Make sure you are playing the game using a wired Ethernet connection. Playing a game using a wireless connection is the primary cause of lag and connectivity issues. Wi-Fi has a wide variance in reliability and bandwidth, and can dramatically affect the quality
of online gameplay. A wired connection will maintain the minimum bandwidth connection that is required for online gaming.

3.Disable any firewall or security features on your router. See your router’s instruction manual or visit the router manufacturer’s website for more details.

4.Enable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) on your router. This will automatically route the correct data to the correct ports.

5.Set port forwarding on your router to the IP address of your Xbox using port 3074 User Datagram Protocol (UDP). If there are multiple consoles on your home network, you can also redirect UDP ports 3074, 3075, and 3076 to the console
(one port per console). How to forward ports.

6.Place the IP address of your Xbox into the DMZ of your router.

If the above steps improve your network connection to the game,
you may want to assign a static IP address to your Xbox 360 within your home network. This will ensure that the configurations you made do not need to be repeated. Please note that Satellite, hot spot, and 3G/4G internet connections are not considered
    broadband and are not supported

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have a firewall or network hardware, such as a router, you might need to make a configuration change in order for your PC or Xbox 360 console to communicate with Xbox Live. This configuration change is sometimes called “opening ports” or "port forwarding."

Xbox Live requires the following ports to be open:

    •Port 88 (UDP)

    •Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

    •Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

    •Port 80 (TCP)

Note If you cannot chat with someone using Video Kinect, you might need to open port 1863 (UDP and TCP).

If you're connected to a network through your workplace or school, ask the network administrator to open the above ports used by Xbox Live.

If you receive a NAT warning when connecting to Xbox Live, please see the Error: Your NAT type is set to strict (or moderate) page.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    xbox one

Do you have public ip? Did you try port forwarding, and what ports? Do you try dmz? Have you set to static ip your xbox? Do you have upnp enabled??? Did you disable the extended security feature? Did you set your game options in upnp as server? Do you have
disabled parental control and content filtering? Did you set you firewall to disable ????

its very important that you dont have dmz and upnp or port forwarding active at the same time, just try one at a time.

once al set, restart you router and your x1 ( full shutdown) if posible disconect from power source.

    Required ports

Xbox Live requires the following ports to be open:

    Port 88 (UDP)

    Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

    Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

    Port 80 (TCP)

    Port 500 (UDP)

    UDP Port 3544 (UDP)

    UDP Port 4500 (UDP)

also add for COD UDP port 3075

Look up your router/gateway, login on your firmware and try to toggle your upnp. Off then on then do a 30 sec power cycle on your network hardware. With that you should have an open Nat type. That support thread will also give you additional steps to try
    if that does not work.
