    NAT Type Changing at random.

I am having trouble with online multiplayer games. My network says I have an open NAT, and a decent upload and download speed then I get into a game and it becomes uplayable with lag, my upload and download speed drop I get packet loss and very very
high latency. I don't always have packet loss just sometimes. I have done I don't even know how many Pingtests on my PC but not once have I had packet loss on there. I have tried everything I can think of, port forwarding turning UPNP on and off, tried giving
my xbox a static IP, I have tried wired and wireless. All of this started happening at random two days ago I don't know what happend but I am at a loss. I am by no means a Tech person so I may have done something wrong I will not say that isnt possible. I
am using a Att Uverse Motorola NVG589. if anyone can help me at all I would be so thankful. All I want is to be able to play again, ever since i've got the xbox one its been nothing but problems.

    :)

    Changing NAT type

Why is that you have the Arris modem? Your Hitron Technologies CGN is actually a residential gateway, which include modem and router/NAT built-in to this device.

Is it that you're using the Arris for your phone service?

However, the problem is probably with your Internet Service Provider. Where CGN stands for Carrier-grade NAT, which basically means that your ISP is giving you, not a public IP, but a private address that has already been NAT'd within your ISPs realm.

    Changing NAT type

Suddenlink provided Hitron when we upgraded to a better network plan. Cisco is just there for backup, hasn't been any issues with the setup so never thought of removing it.

I'm not an expert with networking so I have no idea what you are talking about.

    NAT Type Changing at random.

How often do you experience this? Are you using your Internet connection alone or are there any other users on the same connection? Have you restarted your router already? Is it more happening on the wireless connection than on the wired one? Are only specific
games affected or all? Especially destiny experiences massive problems again the last days.

As I said it's only been happening the last two days, I've only been playing halo MCC, and while I know that game has been having trouble, when i'm in a match i go to settings to test my connection to make sure its me not the game and everytime I check,
I have super low download and upload speed, sometimes i'll have packet loss sometimes I wont, and my latency goes through the roof. 1000+. All this happens when my NAT is supposed to be "open" after the game and I check my connection again, it changes back
to strict. Then I can't get it off strict, yes I have restarted my router, and it happens everytime I'm in a online game regardless if im wired or wireless. I'm so lost, i've spent like 7 + hours trying to fix it. This is almost making me regret not just making
my PC a god instead of getting the xbox.

    That's really pretty bad.

Well, if this is only happening since the last two days and not before, it may also be a problem with your provider. To sort this out you may please do a complete speedtest (f. e. speedtest.net) to check for the data rates. If they are also worse you may
    phone your provider.

If they are ok, the problem may be the Xbox indeed. So the next steps on your Xbox should be:

    1. Setting it back to obtain an IP from the router and enable only UPnp or put the console into the DMZ.

    2. Perform a system cache reset. To do this please hold the powerbutton for about 15 seconds and keep it holding even when the one turns off after some seconds. Wait for the power supply to change the color to orange and then restart the console. Then check
    the network settings again.

    3. If this doesn't help at all, please consider having your console resetted back to factory settings.

Please post back any results, so we hopefully get this fixed for you.

yeah xbox live is currently down. it's because of a dashboard update due in november, they are running some tests for that, it's done on American time so it's done now cos it's early in the morning over there. XBL has
said it should be up and running again between 6pm-7pm GMT.
