    Can't find wireless network

    Wired connection seems to work.

NAT is showing as 'strict'. Wonder why the wireless is playing up.

Xbox One NAT type: Strict.... Help

If it's still strict after you open the proper ports, try resetting your modem and router, then hard reset your console.

This site will help you open the right ports
    Open Port

Just select your router and follow the instructions. Do not download anything from the site, it's not necessary. It's a safe site, but port forwarding manually is very easy.

Go into your router, look for the UPnP option unselected it and update and select it again and update and should be fixed.

Unless you use a router which isn't supplied by your ISP, in which case look at trouble shooting, or look for port forwarding info.

If you are using a wireless connection then here is what to do.

    1. Do search for Xbox Live Port Forwarding for Xbox One.

    2. Log into your router's settings and make sure that the proper ports are forwarded/open. You may also want to set up a static IP address as this makes this easier to maintain open nat.

    3. If it is not enabled then enable DMZ.

    4. Restart your router/Xbox and check your network settings and your NAT should say open.

Port Forwarding on the ISP's own routers always has issues IMO.

I unselected the upnp...applied. Waited 40 seconds. Reselected...waited 40 seconds. It is still strict. I'll look into the port forwarding.

Could this have anything to do with 2 xbox ones in the same house? The 2nd isn't connected at the moment...but I didn't have any problems before hooking up the 2nd console.

I have two xboxs in my house both hardwired never had a strict nat on xbox one.

After you have change the upnp have you done a xbox live test or reset the xbox, try both in that order.

  10. The first thing you'll need to know is how to log into your router or modem/router's settings. It's easy to do once you've done it. If you purchased it, then your login info should be in the papers that came with it, or you can usually find online guides
on the manufacturer's website. You may also find help on setting up DMZ or port forwarding on their site as well.

Log in to your router's settings, enable upnp like someone mentioned.

You now have a choice. You can either use port forwarding, or you can set up DMZ. There is NO NEED AT ALL to do both. They are simply 2 different methods of accomplishing your goal. You only need use one.

Personally, I've always found it easier to get it done and a less complicated process to use DMZ. I use it 100% of the time and I've never had moderate or strict NAT when it's set up properly.

Hope this helps. Also, once you've done a little research, you can always post more detailed info on what you need help with, which will help those who know their way around NAT issues to help you get it sorted here.

Oh, and BTW, no... just hard wiring your Xbox won't solve the NAT issue. I always have mine wired.

It went to 'moderate' right after I unselected and reselected upnp, but now it's back to strict. Is this a router issue or is this a known xbox one issue? I've never saw a strict nat in my 6 years on 360.

Some routers can have issues with multiple x1's. I had this issue and nothing fixed it. I bought a netgear r7000 and now have no issues. I have 2 x1's and 2 360's in the house that are sometimes all on.

I have a Netgear 6200 sitting in a box somewhere. I'm going to try and hook that one up and see if that one works better.

Go to settings>network>test multiplayer connection wait until it's done and you will see "continue" (but don't press anything) press the back buttons( LB,LT,RB,RT) at the same time ( you may have to press it a few times) and you will see network statistics(
This even tells you what kind of NAT you have. Full coned Nat means open NAT). AT this point you can just press "B" and your NAT should now be opened.

I own two xbox ones they're both have an open NAT. I was having the same problem as you and this worked for me.My xbox is hard wired to the router but i was still having NAT issues.I have no clue why this works but it does.
