Unable to connect to party chat at all on Xbox One. NAT type always strict and "Can't get a Teredo IP address" error testing multiplayer connection.

Yes, NAT type shows strict and testing the multiplayer connection yields this error: 'Can't get a Teredo IP address'

  3. "Can't get Teredo IP" error won't resolve

Malacath, I connected straight to my university network via ethernet and I am still getting a strict NAT type with Teredo error when testing multiplayer connection. I had previously contacted IT at my school, and they unblocked all firewalls for my IP address
    already...

    Nat Strict Teredo IP error

    @NikkieMotors hey hey

Let's set Your configuration to recommended state:

    1. Check if Your modem is on bridge mode or not, if not set it to bridge mode.

    2. Check that manual port forwarding, DMZ, port triggering and so on is disabled and only UPnP is enabled.

    3. Check WAN IP address on Your router and copy first two octets, as example: 172.16.x.x

    @zanswerlive hello

    1. Not sure how to enable bridging. In Wireless Settings in my router page I got Enable WDS Bridging is it it ? but after I'm enabling it I got many things to type like: SSID, BSSID, WDS Mode, WEP Index and so on.

    2. Not sure how to disable manual port forwarding, am I just removing all ported I typed in ? because there is no overall option of on/off or enable/disable

DMZ is off, port triggering windows is empty I got only static IP on xbox one but already tried disabling it, didn't helped much

UPnP is on, also I got in UPnP window: App description - Teredo, port 3074, IP of my xbox and it says enabled

    3. WAN IP - 87.69 says Dynamic IP near it

    1. Nope, I mean Your Thomson TCM425, if it can be set to routing or bridging mode.

    2. Yes, just remove all manually added ports.

    3. Please use dynamic IP on Xbox.

    4. Power off Your modem and router for 30 seconds and power on again

Ok, all seems good right now at this point.

Now let's restore Your Xbox network configuration:

    1. Press menu button on Your controller

    2. Select Settings

    3. Select Network Settings

    4. Select Advanced Settings

    5. Select Alternative MAC Address

    6. Select Clear

After that do multiplayer test and when it's will over press LB+RB+LT+RT and copy Your NAT detailed information.

Done everything except that bridge thing, tried to google explanation on how to do it on my modem but there was several people saying its impossible to enter options on my modem because its pretty plain.

I already tried all those default resetting as I was searching for solution for my problem and as before it didn't help much now neither. Also tried couple days ago to factory reset my router as it worked perfectly when I first bought it but nothing.

Detailed NAT Information: Your network is behind a firewall (or not connected)

(Teredo IP error once again before I entered the detailed description)

    @NikkieMotors

Ok, let's check Your router now:

    1. Virtual Servers - clear?

    2. Port Triggering - clear?

    3. DMZ - disabled?

    4. UPnP - enabled?

    5. SPI Firewall - enabled?

    6. VPN Passthrough - enabled?

    7. ALG - enabled?

    8. DOS protection - disabled?

    9. Blocked DOS Host list - clear?

    10. Parental control - disabled?

    11. Access Internet Access Control - disabled?

    12. Static routing list - clear?

    13. Bandwidth control settings - disabled?

    14. Firmware version - what?

And please keep in mind, that I can't check what settings You have, what You done and how, before we start this thread. So I'll ask You sometimes to do some things, even if You already tried them, otherwise it's almost impossible to find root of the problem.
It's always nice to see packet dump of traffic or check router setting at site, but I can't do this in Your case, so, please help me too.

I meant that I done all the things you said but I also tried them before, just mentioned it..

    everything as you said

    firmware version: 3.13.31 Build 130105 Rel.66489n

I also tried connecting my XONE directly to modem with eternal cable, without any router or PC in between but still same problem.

Ok, first I've think about asking You to try to disable firewall, but if You already tried connecting Xbox One to modem and situation was the same, then problem not in Your router.

When connected Your Xbox One to modem directly last time is IP address was like that You copy to me? I mean address was not from private networks like this: 192.168, 172.16., but like now from public?

Such situation can be seen because of two things, first some internal software issue in Xbox One, so it must be reseted to factory defaults and second Your ISP use some sort of filtering on their side. So before trying to reset console, I'll suggest You
to contact Your ISP technical support and ask them about NAT, Firewalling/Filtering on their side and do they have any policy for incoming/outgoing traffic to/from user.

Some ISP's can filter some types of traffic, like GRE tunnels or Teredo tunnels on their side, because this can help to protect users and their network from using users devices as part of botnets and so on.

Yea the IP address is public when I'm connecting ONE directly.

I tried factory reset, still same issue. Teredo IP error and strict NAT, tomorrow I'll contact my ISP because there is nothing left for me to do.

I've just talked with my internet provider, they said that recently xbox live started working on IPv6 and they don't support it, they only work on IPv4. Is there any chance that Microsoft can help me with this one ? or the only solution is to change my internet
    provider.

Thats not going to be the issue. Ipv6 is very new and MOST providers DONT use it yet including mine. Im on an IPV4 address and i can connect fine. So whoever you talked with from your isp is misinformed. Hope this helped

You ISP support is not right, Xbox One always used IPv6, not directly in most case, but with help of Teredo protocol. What this and what it do, it's a tunneling protocol, that use UDP packets and IPv4 datagrams as transport for IPv6 datagrams, that encapsulated
into them. So even if ISP do not support IPv6, like mine ISP for example, console can connect to IPv6 servers and other peers.

But Your ISP can filter such packets, because of some security policies on their side or because of some other thoughts.
