NAT Strict.. Please help.

Alright so I've had this problem before on 360 and fixed it by setting the IP to static and port forwarding the necessary ports, but right now I'm stuck with a POS ubiquiti airos router. I've tried opening the ports and setting to static (with and without
DMZ) (wired and wireless) still strict. Also tried the trick with running the multiplayer connection test and holding the bumpers and triggers.. nothing has worked so far and I'm about ready to throw my router out in the trash. Also not sure if this matters
but my router is currently in "SOHO Router" mode, I've tried switching it to "Router". When I do my computer shows it is connected to the internet but then pops up a page saying that I need to make sure that TSL 1.0 -1.2 is enabled but it already is. It will
not load any page on the web just gives me the same message. I'm not sure what the difference is in SOHO and regular router. I tried connecting to live while it was in regular router mode, it connected but still strict. PLEASE HELP ME... Any further info needed
just ask.

Xbox One NAT type: Strict.... Help

If it's still strict after you open the proper ports, try resetting your modem and router, then hard reset your console.

This site will help you open the right ports
Open Port

Just select your router and follow the instructions. Do not download anything from the site, it's not necessary. It's a safe site, but port forwarding manually is very easy.

Xbox One NAT type: Strict.... Help

I've watched videos on YouTube on how to change it to open & it worked. The question I have is, how do I keep it on open permanently? Every time I turn my Xbox off & then on a few hours later, it's back to strict. It's getting very annoying.

I have 5 xboxes 3of which are xbox ones which we had to get a router to handle the netgear can handle up to 4 xboxes at one time with an open nat. A Uverse modem can only handle one as you have to port forward. The problem is Uverse took off the Unpn out
of the modem so the ports are busy and any other xbox will not be able to use the port. If the xbox has a strict nat it will limit who you connect with and also lag your xbox. Sometime of which it will kick you from the game as well.

A simple solution that would fix these NAT problems for most people would to update the xbox one so that it no longer needs port 3074.

It's because of the stupid decision to use the same UDP ports for xbox 1 as they they do xbox 360 that so many people who also own a 360 have NAT issues.

Most routers can't handle 2 Xboxes at the same time with an open NAT due to the fact that both devices use port 3074.

@Brxdie - It's a complete mess. Much like yourself I've had an open NAT with the 360 for nigh on 8 years. I've had various other consoles and played PC games and never had a problem with my NAT. Further more, if you place your device into the DMZ then
all incoming and outgoing traffic is allowed to pass through unhindered. Yet Microsoft will tell you to do all this rubbish only to end up with the same problem.

The console is, unfortunately, a complete mess. There's so many things that annoy me about it, coupled with this stupid NAT issue it's really starting to make me feel like I've made a terrible mistake buying it. And another thing, I've not been able to
sign into my profile here on the forums for months. I keep getting an error code and so have to use this alternate profile to post instead. Having contacted Microsoft they couldn't understand why this would be the case, but even if I sign in on another device
I still get an error code.
