Your network is behind port restricted NAT

They have slower internet and you are wondering why your connection is slower?

Depends on the router on how to disable NAT or make NAT less intense. We will need your service provider (at the place that has restrictive NAT) and the router they have.

Those will help us reconfigure a router / modem with different nat settings.

    Hey there elflako17!

Sorry to hear about the NAT issues. How many Xbox One or 360 consoles do you have in the same household?

Post back and let us know so we can help you get this sorted! NAT strict... contacted xbox, my internet provider and my router provider and still no help :)

Do you have the option to bypass your router, and make a direct Connection, between your Xbox One and the Arris CM820? If so, please go ahead and connect your console directly to the CM820, and let us know if your console still experience a strict behaviour.

Before you do so, reset your consoles network settings to factory defaults (Clear MAC address), and turn off your modem for a couple of minutes, before you connect your console with your modem.

Let us know how that goes.

Can you visit the Netgear website and make sure your wireless router (model - & hardware revision number) is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware.

Reset your router back to factory settings, and reconfigure your routers wireless settings (SSID, WPA2 with AES enryption, and passphrase/password).

At this stage, don't do Port Forwarding. Instead, let UPnP handle the automatic process of forwarding network ports used by Xbox Live services.

Make sure your consoles network settings are set to obtain IP configuration automatic.

Also, if your consoles Power mode settings are set to Instant-On, change to Energy-saving mode instead.

    Keep us posted!

Can you make sure IPv6 on your Netgear device is not in use.

Clear any entires that you've made in the Port Forwarding section of your router.

Disable UPnP and reboot your router.

Access your router and re-enable UPnP.

As per my previous post, make sure your consoles network settings are set to obtain IP configuration automatic (Clear MAC address).

Reboot your console and run the Connection test, along with multiplayer test as follows:

    1. From the Network settings screen, select Test multiplayer connection.
    2. After the test is complete, you will need to pull and hold both triggers and both bumpers on your controller. This will display a
      Detailed network statistics screen.
    3. In the second column of the Detailed network statistics screen you will see a field called
Detailed NAT information. At first, you will see (…) displayed in this field while your NAT type is being retested. Once you see NAT information displayed in this field, the test is complete.
    4. Press the B button on your controller to return to the Test multiplayer connection results.
