NAT Problems- Sometimes Open, Most Times Moderate, Help :(

Hi, I have been having problems with the NAT not being open at all times. I am using an ASUS TM-AC1900, which is a T-Mobile modded ASUS RT-AC68U.

I have two Xbox Ones on this same network (brother and I). Both systems have the same problem.

UPnP is enabled.

No Port Forwarding atm, and no DMZ setup. Will this work when there are two systems on the same network?

What is your NAT set as? Open, Moderate, Closed? This is most likely your problem. If it is set to strict try testing your connection on the Xbox this sometimes opens it which will most likely help.

 

Connection help

Since you've got Halo 4, chuck it in and let it tell you what your NAT type is. If it's Open, you shouldn't have any problems (though you can actually have a few problems). If it's Moderate you can only connect to other Moderate or Open players and Strict
NAT players can only connect to Open NAT players.

If your NAT type is Open, tell them to check theirs. If it isn't, look into opening yours, it really does help.

Also having this issue on the same router

 

When using two consoles at the same time and only getting moderate NAT, the router may not be able to provide open NAT to both of them when using UPnp as some router firmwares are not having a fully implementation of UPnp. Also UPnp is the only way to operate
more than one console on the same router.

So if at least both consoles have a moderate NAT most online games and service should work.

If needing am open NAT on both consoles you need to get a different router with fully supported UPnp.
