  1. NAT issues with Xfinity Technicolor TC8305C modem


    OK, so for the past 2 weeks I've been trying to fix the issue im having with NAT on the xbox one and playing games like Destiny and GTAV online but nothing seems to be working. I opened all the ports I could find online and I tried the DMZ fix but nothing
    worked. My NAT shows up as being open when I check on my Xbox settings but when I try to play with friends on Destiny I can't communicate with them or anyone else and party chat doesn't work either. When I play GTA V online it either times out when trying
    to connect to a session or drops me into a world with no other players in it except NPCs. I've tried everything except calling Comcast and getting a new modem that isn't a router also and just buying a separate router but I would rather not have to do that
    seeing as how I wont have the modem I currently have much longer anyways because I'll be moving in about a month. If anyone knows a way to fix this ridiculous issue I would greatly appreciate your help.

    Sorry to hear about the connection issues!

    This is a known issue with the Technicolor TC8305C gateways firmware, which you can have a look at the

    Technicolor Known Issues post for more information. Unfortunately the main fix is to either add a new router that is known to work without disconnection issues and call Comcast to set it to bridge mode for you, or replace the Technicolor gateway all together
    with a router and modem set up.

    [/quote]The Technicolor TC8305C, part from being a modem, is also a NAT device, or router built in to this device. If your gateway is not operating in bridge mode, it'll break the fundamental rule for NAT traversal, which is multiple layers of NAT.

    If your Technicolor is not operating in bridge mode, you'll have to phone Comcast, and let them know that you use an additinal router, and that they need to assist you, to have your gateway configured into bridge mode.

    Post back and let us know how that goes.
