  1. NAT Issues HELP

I know that the network error message XB is sending out says it's affecting downloading items but could it be affecting NAT as well? I've had my XB1 port forwarded for a while now but I have a bad router so every now and then my router will forget to put
on it's A game on and my XB1 will slip into strict NAT. Which is a pain in the *** but oh well I usually can get on my router WAN settings and clear my port forwards and reset them and my XB will go back to open. Today I couldn't hear anyone at all while I
was playing and i went to go fix my NAT and the best I can get it back to is moderate now. Which is absolutely 10x more frustrating than any other NAT type. Does anybody have a solution? Or at least condolences because I have a terrible router and a worse
    ISP?

    :)

Your network is behind port restricted NAT

They have slower internet and you are wondering why your connection is slower?

Depends on the router on how to disable NAT or make NAT less intense. We will need your service provider (at the place that has restrictive NAT) and the router they have.

Those will help us reconfigure a router / modem with different nat settings.

    Connection lost

I have a question for you, OP. Did your nat switching help with GTA? Mine is open and I still can't get in populated lobbies. And if I do, I get kicked within seconds.

    NAT Issues HELP

Well, I really can understand your frustration on this.

But to give you some more help on this, we need a bit more of information on your network environment, especially on your router and your setup.

Right for now I would say you should consider to get a better router than the one you now have.

  5. I have a Westell 7500 series gateway through CenturyLink. I'm hoping theres a solution without having to bridge a better router but I'm thinking it's most likely going to come to that. I thought I'd just get on here and see if anyone had a better idea first.
Like I've said normally port forwarding works, at least for a few weeks. This time when I went to strict I went to reset my ports and I couldn't get it better than moderate. So I'm not sure what the problem is. I've tried the preset Xbox Live port designation
and I've also tried forwarding the ports myself. Neither were working. I've made sure not to have UPnP on with it or static NAT. I've also had it put on DMZ but that didn't work either. I haven't power cycled it yet but I'm not really sure on how to do that
anyway everything I've read on power cycling sounds confusing. I really don't want to have to power cycle everything all the time I'd like a more permanent solution.

  6. Oh and I suppose I should say I connect to my gateway through a Ubiquity access point. Even though my XB is closer to my gateway the access point has a stronger signal all the time.

Ok. Thxs for the info. just an additional question: Are you getting an Teredo error on the multiplayer connection test maybe? We had that sometimes lately, that this error happened out of nowhere and the only solution was to reset the Xbox to factory settings.

So you may please do a multiplayer connection test. In the result screen please hold LT, LB, RT and RB simultaneously to start the detailed connection test. Wait for the detailed NAT status and post back the results here.

  8. NAT Issues HELP

I'm not getting any error messages. Just the typical description I usually get when I tested my connection. I'm at best buy right now looking at routers. How difficult is it to bridge my gateway to a better router?

  9. Ok so I got a new router. I got the Netgear Nighthawk R7000. I've got it all set up and port forwarded, UPnP off and still stuck at moderate. What. The. Mess.

Turn UPnp on and check again please. Usually this should fix it.

  11. So UPnP being turned on didn't fix it. I did find out however that now my detailed NAT information says that I'm behind a "UPnP port restricted NAT" Not sure what that means for moderate I've only ever seen behind a "port-restricted port NAT" I think I read
somewhere that my gateway Westell 7500 can't be bridged so it's still up and running as well could that be a factor I wonder? Even though I connect through WiFi to my new router now instead of my AP?

Any difference when deleting the portforwardings and use dmz instead? If that doesn't change anything it may in fact be the modem.

Putting it in DMZ opened it up. Now I'm just nervous it won't stay there. Is there any real danger to the rest of the devices on my network by putting my Xbox in DMZ?

Nope. That's the trick of dmz. All the other devices are still behind the firewall. Also there is no way to compromise a Xbox One and there are also no sensitive data stored on it. So it's no problem to have it set up into the DMZ.

  15. Unfortunatley........DMZ worked for like 2 minutes. Now its back to the land of moderate. This is killing me. I'm starting to feel as though I just spent a bunch of money on a nice new router for no reason.
