NAT Issue

Hi all. My NAT on my Xbox One shows it is opened. Sometimes it changes to moderate. When I play Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare or Destiny, they state that my NAT is strict. When I play Call Of Duty AW, It takes longer than usual to get into a game. When
I connect, there are times I get lag free games and times when the game is laggy/unplayable. When I play Destiny, it says that I have a network issue. I can still connect to games faster than Call Of Duty and the performance is better. I do not have any
connection issues with Titanfall, D&D Neverwinter Nights, and Diablo 3. I read about how to open the NAT. It sounds complicated. This NAT issue occurred after Memorial Day. My question is will the NAT effect my multiplayer gameplay? Can a strict or moderate
NAT cause lag? I am not interested in hosting games or communicating to other players. I just want to join the games and play them. Like I said. I didn't experience any problems before Memorial Day. Thank you for taking the time to read my post!

Weird issue with mic

Sounds like NAT or network issues. Sometimes when two people have a certain network config you can play and chat with other people just fine, but not someone else with your same issue.

My wife and I used to have a similar issue with chat in OG Destiny. Check your NAT and make sure it is open not moderate or strict.

Things you have tried: Unplugged the wifi modem for 30-60 seconds and browsed the Xbox One network settings

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/No/Unknown: Unknown

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?: Xbox One says Open or Moderate NAT. call Of duty advanced warfare shows a strict NAT. Destiny states that I have a networking problem.

Any Error Codes you encounter: I saw one but didn't write it down.

Who is your ISP? (Internet Service Provider): Xfinity

so you modem is also a router ?....if so , that's probably the problem as they are not the best for gaming....also , I would try is to go wired and see if that helps...having 2 consoles mean they might be fighting over ports and such and a wifi gateway
might be hard pressed to remedy that ...imo...

 

Hi Bimnog! Thank you for reading my post and provide some suggestions for me to solve this issue! You gave me an excellent idea! What if I disconnected my Xbox 360 from my wireless connection and disconnect the G-wireless adapter from the 360 unit. I
only use the Xbox 360 to play DVDs for my daughter. Would disconnecting the adapter from the xbox 360 solve the problem so that way the fighting over ports can stop? I also have a wireless repeater near the Xbox One and 360 since they are connected to the
same TV. I connected both systems to the router instead of the repeater because I have been experiencing more lag from the repeater. Go figure!

This is frustrating because everything worked perfectly before Memorial Day. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" I don't want to mess around with the network settings if I am only having a network issue with Call Of Duty AW and my other games work fine.
There are so many posts in the Xbox forums about the same problem that I am experiencing. Feel free to drop a line if you want. Thank you very much!

 

If you can take the 360 out of the loop then I would do it , you should reset EVERYTHING after that though , (console , modem router) best way ive found to reset xbox one is go to settings > network> advanced > alt mac address > clear > restart ....not
sure what that does but everything works better for me afterwards ... if no luck there then I would try to hard wire it ( cable is pretty cheap now and I MUCH prefer it to a wireless connection ) ...

 

Hello Bimnog. I just want to let you know that my network issue is fixed! I think Microsoft released an Xbox One update late last night or early this morning. The Xbox stated that I had an open NAT. I popped in Destiny and didn't get a network error!
I was able to play Destiny fine. I popped in Call Of Duty AW. The NAT was opened in it and I was able to join and play games quicker. While I had this issue, I hypothesized that this was a software/MS server issue on the Xbox One because why would the Xbox
One state that the NAT was opened in the network settings and in Destiny and Call Of Duty showed a strict NAT or you have a network issue?

I want to take the time to thank you for your guidance and patience while I had this issue! It makes me wonder if the Internet should be a requirement for everyone! Without the Internet, we wouldn't be able to download and install these updates or even
operate our Xbox One.
