    NASCAR Heat progress.......

First off I only use a racing wheel for racing games. Real cars have steering wheels so why would I drive a racing game car with a controller LOL. Proportional steering including the gas and breaks is the most realistic way to enjoy a racing game IMO

I'm into my second season in the game, almost to the Chase but it is very hard. I'm not even playing it on Simulation mode so I can only imagine how hard that will be when I'm ready for it.

There are a few things that I do hope the developers will address in future patches like making the rear view mirror and camera choice ( the hood for me) stay once you set it. As it stands now you have to reset each of those prefs each time you hit the track.

Next I'd like to see them address the wheel calibration setting in the Game Settings window, as of now I have none so I have to manually set my wheel degree of turn each and every time I turn on the game. I must say though that the FFB for the game is very
    adequate.

The game tried to make it easier IMO to play but in some cases they dumbed it down just a bit to much.

It is a very challenging game, at least in the Career mode.

    :)

    NASCAR Heat progress.......

After further review I'm really liking this game at least at the level we were given it. It does need a few tweaks with a patch or two correcting some of the minor flaws and for sure putting some of the needed missing features I mentioned in my original
    posting.

I'm now into my third career go through and that in itself is a real positive result compared to most racing games I've had and I've had just about all of the what I call more realistic than arcade racing games that has been released.

In past racing games there hasn't been enough replay value or challenge to warrant a second effort but in this game the challenge factor is for sure there.

In my first season I didn't qualify for the Chase but in the second season I qualified 15th but didn't get past that point.

In the third season now I have one more race before the Chase rounds begin and I'm in second place and looking forward to todays progress.

I ran the first two seasons with a setting out of whack and that made for a pretty frustrating effort. I had the Fuel and Tire Ware setting (why I have no idea) set on 4 Times! That means my tires and fuel depleted 4 times faster than normal and I don't
think the other AI drivers did. I had to pit in most races and unless something serious happened to their cars they didn't have to pit. That makes finishing decent doesn't happen.

Took me to long to figure out that setting was on bad so that's a learning experience.

In closing, I'm enjoying this game more than most racing games and I hope it only gets better. It's been so good for me personally I haven't even thought of or considered going online with it in MP. I may in the future if I get the urge but racing with the
public with most of them using controllers and not caring about clean racing isn't to appealing for me personally.

This game is a bit restricted in regard to car setups or tuning, the only way that I've found to do car setups or tunes is to be in the Simulation mode. The problem with the Simulation set scenario (and I have tried that setting while testing) it's very
hard to control the cars plus the realistic physics model of that Simulation mode makes the cars very prone to full damage that can disable the car to max with very little effort.

I've been doing racing games for a long time so I've done my share of tuning but I'm at a stage of participation and enjoyment where I don't want to mess with tuning or leader boards. Spec racing is all I do any more because it's easy and IMO more competitive.
Most gamers don't have the time or the patience to partake of what it takes to be a good tuner.

If you get into a race online that allows tuning you better be willing to invest some serious time or you wont be competitive. The pro racers know every trick in the books on how to tweak a game so they are basically untouchable.

For the negative reasons I just mentioned Spec racing is basically what this game delivers on. I believe if you want to go into MP for live racing you would have to set up a private server layout in the Simulation mode to be able to tune cars online.

I haven't tried it yet and I probably wont but I'm not even sure if you can set up a Private Match Simulation setting in MP, the game advertises MP with no setups or tuning of cars available online, at least at this time.

Just finished my third season in the career mode and I thought I was set to win the Chase but the last race at Homestead (a track I really like) I failed to finish high enough to savor the thrill of winning it all.

I finished around 16th I believe and that got me 4th place in the chase.

Dang, I just couldn't make a move on some of the big names who seemed very intent on not letting me win LOL

The game does adjust as you get better, I never thought they could code a game to be that replay intense but they have, at least for this racer.

I finished and instantly started my forth season so we'll see where this one goes.

I only have one more upgrade in my garage to buy, I believe it's 15 million so that upgrade should put me at the level equipment wise with the AI who still just seem to have a bit of an edge horsepower and handling wise.

I'm totally enjoying this game, IMO for me personally it's the best NASCAR game to come along in some time. Now if I could only find a bunch of Wheel Racers to enjoy it with LOL
