    Why the xbox one can't access nas drives like i did on 360 via Media center?

    Media streaming - Humax?

    Bit of a technical question.

    First here are some facts about my network.

    • I have PCs connected via wifi.
    • I have a NAS drive connected directly to my router.
    • I have xboxes, a Blu-ray player, a Humax freeview recorder and a PS3 connected via homeplug power line adapters.
    • My freeview box and NAS drive both have the ability to act as UPNP media servers.
    My PC can stream media from my NAS drive, other PCs and my Humax box (though HD is encrypted so will not play)

    My PS3 will also stream from the NAS, PC and Humax

    My xbox will stream from my PC and NAS drive, but the Humax box isn't even listed.

    Any one know what the difference might be? If my xbox can see my NAS, why can't it see the Humax?

    It would be great if I could use my xbox to watch recorded shows in another room.

    After Live Update, Xbox doesn't see my NAS drive anymore.

    So after the newest Live update, when I go to videos, all that shows up is my laptop. My xbox and my nas drive are wired into my router, so its not a wireless issue. And my laptop sees the Nas drive, so that seems to be working properly.

    The Xbox One doesn't have a build-in System Video Player for browsing the content on a Nas drive. However, you can use the PlayTo functionality on a Windows 8 computer to play the music and video file from NAS to Xbox One. I followed the how
    to stream music from NAS to Xbox One     tips and it worked fine. Hope it also useful for you

    Yes i also use this trick. But it would be preferable that xbox one will have this feature implemented like on xbox 360. I think new consoles should have more features, not less that older ones!

    The only option in these drop-downs is C. None of my mapped drives display.
    It may only allow locally attached drives, however I believe it will require the drive to be formated in NTFS to work. Is that what your nas drive is formatted as?

    Yep - the NAS is just a server running an instance of Win10 x64 Pro, and all the network drives are normal shares. Currently feels like a limitation of the desktop program.
