Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums! We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with being able to search and add friends to your Friends list.

Do you have any other profiles on your console? If so are they currently experiencing similar difficulties? If they are able to search and add friends, you may simply need to

remove your account and re-add it back onto your console. Just make sure you do have your login information in hand before you do this, in order to prevent loss of data.

If you haven't already there is another alternative method that you can use to attempt to add your friends, and this can be done via the

Friends section of your account on the Xbox website.

In addition to this, if you have a mobile device with a stable internet connection, you can also use the

Xbox Console Companion app on your phone and add your friends that way.

I recommend that you give these a try and let us know if this works for you!
