    So there's this name I want but when I type it in it says it's taken and when I look it up it is not taken nobody has it. Is there any way that I am able to get it?

    Sometimes Xbox just wont let you have certain things as your gamer tag, the best thing to do is choose another

    Gamertags are used on other services,not just xbox live so while the tag may not show up as used on xbox live it could be in use somewhere else.

    If the system says it's taken then there's nothing you can do to get it.

    If that tag doesn't sign in for 2 years then it will become available.

    Also, I'm not sure what the name is from, but anything that might be connected to something famous like a movie character or actress or musician is usually made not available, no matter what. If it's just a completely made up name by you with no
    other connection to a movie, TV show, musician or song, etc then it might be that it's taken on another Microsoft platform, not Xbox.
    It is, in fact connected to a character.

    You might try a variation of it, or add something to it.
